Eye of Cthulhu Bug

Me and my friends just started a new world and decided to craft a Suspicious Looking Eye to fight Eye of Cthulhu and when he died he didn't drop any items. We have no idea as to why this happened.

Nope, we're playing on a Normal mode World. I'm thinking it was because he hadn't spawned naturally in the world before but my friends think that's got nothing to do with what happened.

Nah, we're all god friends and have 200+ hours on Terraria. We just had a big WTF moment when the boss died and didn't drop any items. We even dug a big trench on the area where he died to check if the items got stuck in the ground but didn't find anything.

Nah, we're all god friends and have 200+ hours on Terraria. We just had a big WTF moment when the boss died and didn't drop any items. We even dug a big trench on the area where he died to check if the items got stuck in the ground but didn't find anything.

It might've been the rare possibility that the game glitched when dropping the loot in multiplayer. I know from playing with people...

If you have alot of items on the ground in the world when a boss dies, the loot does not drop due to entity counts :) So you probably had a bunch of stuff floating on the ground

In expert mode each character get a loot bag.

In normal mode th e boss just explodes and drops some stuff. In EoC's case this would be demonite ore, potions and corrution seeds.

It's possible that one of you got that but didn't notice because you already had it in your inventory

it hapends also with brain of cthulhu you kiil all his minions and then he simply dies leaving no items or moneys

you can reproduce this effect by having very good items in a new world and fight the brain reali fast (like instant)

Actually, when the item limit is reached, the game will try to delete the oldest items first in order to make room for the new ones. Though I have seen the game bug out before and do what you say here, it's not what's supposed to happen.
