How do you drink water?

I've set a stockpile over a pool of fresh water but all my guys are thirsty and won't drink, what do I need to do?

I think I sorted it out.. I had to make the stockpile one z level lower so it was in the water before they would drink out of it.

I just started playing and have no idea how to drink. Still is full, but they won't drink at all .. how did you fix it so that they did drink?

Thanks :P - I saw that part but did you have to dig out the level connected to the still or build a trough from the still, or just dig an area a distance away and place a stockpile in it?

I don't remember, I think it was to get them to drink water directly out of the source I just put the stockpile in the water.

They will just go to a water source when they need a drink, there should be no need to setup a stockpile.

If that is not happening, something is wrong.

The drinks stockpile preset is for holding drinks you make at the still.

They're all -30 happiness cause for some reason they won't drink from the water source or the still - I started a new game and it looks like they're doing the same thing ... but because I can't find fruit, I cant make juice - bit of a nightmare going on

you can also make tea from Mushrooms-very plentiful
