This error comes out because this is a different patch from the old one that was played, so it is as if you are on esoc (not true) and the other players on the original version (this is just an example)

I cant open the patch. I did install it, but when I try to open the patcher nothing happens.

Eventually you may not be able to play without the patch. If everyone would go ahead and download the patch we would be back to normal play. From the patch FAQ:

While the patch is not required at this time, it is strongly encouraged to download in order to ensure smooth gameplay if eso.com is unavailable. In the future, eso.com may be permanently removed, at which point the patch will be required to continue accessing the game’s multiplayer services.
Additionally players who have not downloaded the patch will be unable to play multiplayer matches with those who have.

Verify steam game files if you want to remove this patch

The solution is for everyone to download the patch. People who have not downloaded it are causing the CRC errors.

Only if people knew how to read and know they have to manually update :(

There are no game changes or new features. Only purpose of the patch is future-proofing against the shutdown of eso.com domain.
