This works for me as well, right here in 2017!
For Dutch users, using Windows 10 as well, you won't find a "Legacy" folder in your program list. Instead, it will be listed under "Oude onderdelen"!
I had the same issue just now too... I found this in an old thread...
Here's how I fixed it...
-Click Control Panel
- Programs
- "Turn Windows features on or off"
- Open folder called Legacy
- Select DirectPlay
Play game.
