Improvement Mod

I recently downloaded, the improvement mod from AOE heaven. The mod installed and then asked to patch. I downloaded the patcher and it states it needs to update bringing me here http://aoe3.ashesofkryta.com/AoE3ImpModPatcher.exe (witch gives the patch file automatically) however when I run the patch it states either don't change the name of the patch EXE (witch I have not done) or that it can't find the age of empire launcher. Does anyone know what I have done wrong thank you.

The mod does not seem to be installed by the way I can see no changes made to the game I presumed that was because it needs this patch first.

Edit- looking at the place where the mod is installed their seems to be only two files aoe3_imp witch is an icon file. aoE3ImpModPatcher witch is an application can't see anything else in case that helps.

Go download the mod-exe (setup)
http://impmod.blogspot.co.at/

install. (read careful the installation details since steam is a bit special).

start the game afterwards through the mod-patcher ... it patches a bit then you click on the button below and it starts.

If you did all right, this screen should appear

Thanks worked like a charm :}. Strangely that improvement mod image was showing up beforehand but the mods content was not present. The one difference I noticed is the file from Heaven is a plain white file while the one from the link you provided has AOE art perhaps the download messed up. Thanks for the help.

Question related to the Improvement Mod: Can someone confirm that the online multiplayer does work? Or are we required to play through things like Hamachi (which I cant get to work with AoE for some reason)?

For hamachi to work You need to set you IP adress manually. (there should be tutorials for this on the internet).
I haven't tried the mod online but I heard that ohter people will need the mod too to play it online and that you can't play with others, who don't use it.
Just try it out.

You can only play any with online players who have the same version of the game than you do. It's that simple, and given that most play the regular game, it's gonna be hard for you to find a match with people with the mod, unless the forums, schedule it, etc.

For Hamachi you do need a simple file placed in "My Documents" with your IP address in it.
However, you can use Game Ranger or Tunngle without a problem.
