On Windows or OS X?

You can install Windows using Bootcamp, then get AoE3 and play on ESO or Game Ranger.

On OS X, you can play on Game Ranger, but it's only compatible with older OS X versions, up to Mountain Lion. It doesn't work with Mavericks and Yosemite. So, if you want to play on OS X but have Mavericks/Yosemite installed, you have to create a second partition, using Disk Utility and install Mountain Lion (or Lion) on it. Then restart on this partition, install Game Ranger and AOE3.

Another way, but more difficult, would be to use a virtual private network, created by Hamachi, or another program like that.

Just buy the mac version. This one isn't included in Steam and is sold seperately.

Gamers don't use mac. All their laptops use intergrated graphics card instead of dedicated. Just buy the game outside Steam, and ignore my first two sentences :D
