Online patch error (fixed: steam auto updated)

Hi all,
I have recently installed the AGE3esopatch installer and when i follow the instructions i get an error when trying to install patch. (error reads: age3.exe: patch failed an error occoured while trying to load the file) anyone know how to fix this issue? my PC won't run DE.

i have tried to install the patch but it fails.

Is there a problem with steam sourced copy?

Should I remove the game and reinstall?

Windows 10 just updated to the new ver today ...So i guesting Age of empirer 3 will not run on this ver at all

Can an aoe3 steam AOEIII purchase be patched and if so is it in the same way as noted on the ms website?

I did the patch direct from the website that was provided. The patch was successful, but, now all the games in the browser are CRC mismatch!

I have the exact same issue but not with a 100 percent of the matches. Probably with about 99 percent I cant play due to Crc mismatch. Very annoying.

I think you have to install it within the same folder where the aoe3. exe file is.

Hey Guys, steam did an auto update and you don't need to do the patch unless you have disc version. I believe there is a way to reset ur patch install.

I used the ESOC launcher to solve the problem. It can launch either ESOC patch or official patch (includes server redirect).
