initilization failed with windows 10.

so i just bought AOE3 on the steam sale and i am having a issue with opening the game. After i put my key in i choose the age of empires complete collection then it asks me to install directplay, I click yes then it wont install direct play, and comes up with a error "the following feature could not be installed DirectPlay error code 0x80073701
I think it wants to install a older directx version but not sure how this is possible. any ideas?
I tried 1 thing that didn't work and that was to go to start type turn windows features on/off,go to legacy components,click directplay press ok then it loads and crashes with the error 'windows couldn't complete the requested changes error code 0x8007301, it doesn't load fully like the videos online.
so now im stuck.
Any help would be great.

just turning DirectPlay on should fix that.

directx setup is found at \Age Of Empires 3\directx and dxsetup.exe

or as link[www.microsoft.com](i think game uses dx9)

im have this same issue accept when i try to enable turning on direct play i get the same error code and the refrenced assembly could not be found

turn off antivirus and then install direct play.
