$40 for a Game Released in 2005.... Really
I bought the orginal back in 2005 and got the book, box etc and it was great. But this game is NOT worth $40 today... Sorry but it's not!
A Great Game mind you but MS needs to get off their High Horse for a RTS game that's over 13 years old.

1. The game is literally dirt cheap during sales that happen very often
2. Tell that to MS, no need to brag about it on Steam forums
2.1. Microsoft would gladly listen to your complain about a pricing tag on a game that was released 10+ years ago by studio that got disbanded back in 2009
3. Good bait tho

This is not the same game you bought in 2005. There are two massive expansions included, it's basically like three games in one.

Agree with Пустельга, good bait. If you dont think its worth the price tag put it on your list to be notified when its on sale. Other then that stop complaining old doesnt equal cheap.

It absolutely should, and historically has. It's only in this digital-only age that prices not dropping has become more normal. And, no, a game going on deep discounts isn't an excuse. Koei Tecmo is the worst offender for this, with games 4 years old on here that are still $59.99, when their digital counterparts on places like PSN are price dropped to $20. Sure, they go on sale (usually no more than 50% off) occasionally, but it's the principle of the matter.

But, sure, defend anti-consumer practices.

You are more than welcome to buy any of the newer and better RTS games out there. I'm sure you'll find many!
Why is this topic still getting attention?
OneEco Jan 14, 2019 @ 11:31am
It shouldn't be $40, I agree.

wtf, time is not equal money. you can say "but but the the game is dacade old and we need to do 30%+ disocunt!1!11" no. this game is 3. lets say the normal game = 20 dollars and 1 dlc = 10$. and also this game is really really good, modern graphics and good gamplay. i only hope thats they will upgrade the max pupolation for your army which can make this game very very 10/10.
thats all i can say for you stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, 40$ is alot but, you can buy other games for waaaaaaaaaaaay less. try other games and stop complain

The entire "Age of Empires" series is not what it was when ORIGINALLY RELEASED. I have the recent release and it has so many flaws with rediculous Ideas, that it is a Joke. They (Steam) do not allow you enough room to write a proper Critic, so, I shall not "Waste my time or enegry".

Bring back "AoE" before AoE III. The original was superior even without HD Enhancement.

Really people are that uch as Sheeple?

What are you talking about? There is literally no difference between AoE3 pre-Steam and post-Steam, there hasn't been a single update since 2009.
msrachelm52 Jan 17, 2019 @ 4:41am
Not "Steam". Steam is just a Marketing Group. Microsoft Age of Empires the game before AOE II and the Conquerors. There a difference. The Original was not HD and the Building System was very different. How old are you? I am nearing 70 years old and retired, so, I have time to reseach and play games. I worked most of my Life and I am at least "Semi-retired" and do take extra work as Writer and Module designer. More than just Playing, AoE 3 (III) wqs where it went the wrong, In my opinion.

So you're talking about AoE1? Writing "proper critic" on AoE3 by talking about a completely different game is... interesting, to say the least.

If you want to play original AoE1, just play it... I don't see why other games like AoE3 make that an issue for you by their mere existence. AoE3 is obviously not meant to be the same game as AoE1, that's why it's called AoE3.
msrachelm52 Jan 17, 2019 @ 7:59am
Nor, AoE2 with the Conquerors. It was easy to set up your own camapigns and the Graphic were not an issue. I play to play not foe "Eye Candy". Really.

i see a lot of COMMENTS about other games but I saw my first Computer game in 1975 snd there were no PC except maybe PET Commedior and Trash 086, if you were lucky.

I have played Strategy games since 1958 through the 1980s. We dreamed of having Computer to play Massive Games, like SPI and Avalon Hill (or Monarch Paper Company) when Strategy gaming was in its Infancy. You just do not get it, do. Your problem not mine. Have a Wonderful day. RATINGS? Really that insecure about Self? Whatever! :)
