Failed to create account
I am trying to make an ESO account so I can play multiplayer, but I keep getting Failed to create account message all the time.

I've googled and seen some suggestion to create account from vanilla (compleate collection) but the problem is nomatter what I try, I can't launch vanilla game as it just keeps crashing whenever I start it.

OS: Windows 10 64-bit, vista service 2 pack compatibility tested as suggested other places on Steam forums (all XP and vista packs tested) still keep crashing.

How do I create ESO account when I keep fail create it and can't launch vanilla game to create account?

As you cant launch the game maybe there was a problem during installation. Try re installing then try again

Both expansion packs works fine, I do balive it is not a problem during installation as when I googled after fix for my problem, I saw several other have had the exact same problem.

EDIT: Ill verify intergrity of game and see if that fixes it, I am doubt full that solves it
EDIT2: 1 file faield to validate and got downloaded again, still crashing on compleate collection, how do I create ESO account when it don't work in expansion packs?

You need to get vanilla working on some computer, there's no other way to create an ESO account.

I would try re installing just to see if that works, its sorted problems for me before. And this game has always had small issues with installing even with cd version. If that doesn't solve your problem ask at http://eso-community.net this is the main forum for the game, you will get better help from there than on steam forums.

Why is it like that? When I created my ESO account some months ago, I did it from TAD, did not even started vanilla game, or entered any CD keys.

It's always been like that. Creating an ESO account from TAD is impossible, it just wasn't ever implemented. Official source: http://steamcommunity.com/app/105450/discussions/1/558755530121297700/?l=czech

Note that what Steam labels as "Complete Collection" is actually the vanilla game without any expansions, which is very misleading.

I was having the same problem. So I went to the URL the error message provided and there was a download for registry file for Windows 7 (I use Windows 10), I downloaded and installed it. Next time I opened the game it asked for my cd-key. I right-clicked the Age of Empires 3 on my library on steam and copied the key from there. Then I opened the game and when I registered it worked fine. Hope it helps.

I am sure I never launched complete collection or aoe3.exe when I created my ESO account

I tried installing the registry, verifying game cache but none of those work. it just leads me to the website that wants me to download the registry x'D:steamsad:

Some of you guys are talking about a different issue. Original poster does not have the 101 error problem, he can't even launch the game.

I couldn't launch AOE3 on Win10. I checked I have DirectPlay installed, compatibility settings,..
Finally it is resolved now thanks to this post from Metis:

Please note in that post:
You may need to run the game in XP, service pack III compatibility mode and as an administrator. If you install via Steam this will be all set up for you. However, the game must first be run from the Steam client to work. Running it from the shortcut icon first will result in an error message.
