Online error 128 and 2

I keep getting errors in the middle of online play that force me to forfeit the game and waste everyone's time. My internet is fine, I was browsing as this error kept happening. I've lost all the karma I earned over 10 hours of play because of this. Really frustrating, I think I'm done with this game.

Hello, I'm trying to play with my friend and we're getting the same error over and over again.
Either he clicks on Online and the error pops up, or I invite him for a game, same.

We tried reinstalling the game, checking the integrity of the game's files, restarting the Internet box, restarting the PC, running Steam as administrator, joining a game from a Steam invite with and without the game started...
We're a bit out of options !

Using a VPN helped me switch to Online mode after receiving 'Online Error 128' every time I clicked the 'Online' button for a day.
