Wingspan
5 minutes is too long to enjoy a game of Wingspan and the AI are too slow.
In an update can there be a 2minute per turn or 1.5minutes, 3 time settings might be alright as i kept losing interest in the game and losing karma points

How long does a normal game last?
I only play 3 days games, because 5 min with 3 players and 26 turns last forever..
If an average of 10 min per turn (all players played) you are looking at 260 Min for 1 game
My lord! Never played it but curious how long they really last.

My experience with 100 karma is that matches can last for 1h20m to 2h+. Double-karma event helped me a lot, because without that i would still be 90 karma (more or less). Since it's planned to be long enough, we don't want to play many online games per day... it turns (truly) unbearable. Although it's rare to face quitters when you are full karma... as an example, i don't remember facing quitters in my last 6 matches (let's say). Karma helps a little bit.
But still, that's not the same as Ranked. Karma tells 'how much you keep in-game' or finish games, and not 'how good you are in the game'. Then we end being quite understimulated to continue playing 😒
Aha , a 1.5 or 2 min rounds option would be ideal.

I've tracked the results of hundreds of 3 player online games. My average game takes 58 minutes but they have been taking longer lately. It's obvious many people don't pay attention - I dread a hummingbird or other once between turn action as some players can take several minutes just to pick food or lay an egg in addition to their 3min turn. My fastest game from draw to final score was 31 minutes and I've finished dozens of games in under 45 minutes. I started a list of players I refuse to play because past games have taken 75+ minutes. Karma level makes zero difference in my experience.

Ya the game need options for Time Limit. 1min, 2min, 3min, 4min, 5min. It´s not playable with 5min in Battlemode.

Plz Supporters, you have a so nice game here, exspecially for online games, plz change the time limits. It´s not possibly to play this game online with 3 people and you have to wait 5min during your turns.

And you give people the option to play 10 games in a row, wow. That is the reason why the most people need so long for their turns.

I don´t want to play 10 games at the same time, I only want to play 1 game, but not for 3 hours

People can play 10 real-time games simultaneously ????????

Why on earth would that be allowed??? No wonder people are taking 5 minutes per move. Absurd.

It is RIDICULOUS and aggravating that they don't add a simple 2 minute or unthinkable at this point, a chess clock, etc. OR! why not just spend 5 minutes as a dev changing the existing clock to 3 minutes!

The game takes way too long, WAY TOO LONG. Are you reading this devs???? Please!!!? God please, I'm on my knees - change the ruddy settings for multiplayer and I will convert my negative review to a positive one.

I've never tried to play multiple real-time games simultaneously. Is it really possible? If it is... i would (indeed) give a try! Maybe THIS could be the solution for us who are complaining about the 5 minutes timer... if work for me, i'll change my negative review as well!

In addition to another "desesperations" here... guys, if you can't handle the situation, just go for 'Dune: Imperium', 'Backpack Battles' or 'Monster Train' -- there was a bunch of options for promotion available until last week here on Steam marketplace. If you didn't took advantage with them, then your problem is another 😂

Amusing how this thread topic just keeps on reappearing.

the game lets you play multiple online games at once and its features make it easy to tell when its your turn. so thats something i do to offset the long turn times. or i multi task with the game. i am pretty fast at taking my turn and determining the optimal play its rare a turn presents enough choices for it to take a full five min so ill put on youtube videos, ill respond to work emails, ill chat with a friend, or play another turn based game or idle game on the side. This aspect of wingspan has been a positive to me because of this.

yes. the game makes this very easy. i find that i can play up to four games sometimes without feeling time pressure. you have to pay attention more but in the menu the game shows you what game that is running is waiting for you to take the turn. i think its a great solution to people who dont like the turn time. in these sort of games a strategy a lot of players implement is slow playing. its annoying. i dont think its effective. it is toxic. its hard to police this but i think when you can just play games simultaneously these players matter way less.

I'm already very happy with 'Dune: Imperium', i simply don't care about Wingspan anymore... this is not to bring "depressive feelings" on developers or community (who cares as well 😂).

But just for you to know: with minimal interaction by my side at Dune's forum here on Steam, the DireWolf developer is ready to reply any feedback by his players... they really care about us, even if the feedback is the least imagined (you can check there by yourself).

As if wouldn't be sufficient: the great joke is that they launched another recent game (December 2024) called 'Ark Nova', just to "provoke" MonsterCouch 😂. It's a board game of strategy focused on nature and animal preservation / zoo's, very beautiful and contrary to Dune: Imperium in the aesthetical scope (nothing to do with wars); but just to prove that they can create any theme they want also!! 😉

I'm confused as to what you are saying here.
What do Ark Nova and Dune Imperium have to do with one another? They each have different designers and different publishers. I don't see Dire Wolf associated with Ark Nova in any capacity.

And I'm unclear what either of those games has to do with Monster Couch or Wingspan.

Apologies if I am operating under incorrect information here. I checked these details on the BGG webpage for each of these games.

I mentioned these two games because they're also board game of strategy, adapted to digital realm. In the case of Ark Nova, it's even more close to Wingspan because it's related to nature and animals.

DireWolf has created other acclaimed games like 'Root', 'Sagrada', 'Everdell'... i started to know them few months ago. Today i literally abandoned Wingspan, though in my opinion it is still a "cool" game (7,5/10).

Dune is not a hard game to learn (i wrote a topic on Dune's forum here on Steam about this), and my main activity on the game is already ranked matches... If MonsterCouch update Wingspan more times and fix important things, maybe i can forgive them and play again... but it is not so much clear.
I think what I meant was (I wrote the post late last night when tired) was, who is the "they" you referred to when you said "the great joke is that they launched another recent game (December 2024) called 'Ark Nova', just to "provoke" MonsterCouch".

I wasn't clear who you were referring to and why that would be considered provoking Monster Couch.

I think where I'm getting confused is your use of the word "created" with regard to Dire Wolf. I use "created" and "creator" to refer to the person or people who created the actual physical game. You might be using it to refer to the software company that implements a digital version of the game.

Regarding Wingspan, I always found the notion of a 5-minute turn timer absurd and never understood why people bothered. We just play custom games with friends and family. If we're looking to play against random people, we would pick a different game that doesn't have such a poorly designed timer.
