I need to lay eggs, but no bird to lay on

Hi
I want to play a bird, so I get the message that I can't play the bird because I don't have enough eggs.
So I want to get an egg. But my only bird on the board is a common cuckoo. And on this bird I can not lay an egg.
What do I need to do to lay an egg somewhere?

Play a bird that has egg slots. Or play another bird on the first column.

Cuckoos dont have nests. They are good birds to play because they give out free eggs when other people lay eggs but you need another bird with that compatible nest.
