So if the end of round bonus was birds in the Wetlands and it was in there it counts as 2, but if the bonus was eggs in the wetland the power doesn't activate and you only count them once, same for food cost.
This will also be why you haven't had the achievement too, they weren't activating because you didn't have a viable Counts as Double.
Think of it this way, If the goal is about birds (this type of nest, having eggs, in this habitat) then the bird counts double. If the goal is about what is on/under a bird (tucks, cache, eggs, food) then it doesn't count double.
Hopefully this will help:
The EUROPEAN HONEY BUZZARD {Reset bird feeder at end of round. Gain all worms rolled.} will always trigger
Birds that depend solely on actions you control:
Birds that have not too difficult trigger conditions:
Birds that count double towards end-of-round goal conditions (but can be confusing as to what goals trigger):
The types of goals that qualify are variety of nest, whether they have eggs, number of birds and birds in specific habitat.
You can see the end of round goals before the game even starts, if you know they won't help then don't pick them up. They're very subjective but with the right set of end goals they can be useful.
I've used them multiple times and when the conditions have been met correctly they have activated as they should. If you have evidence of them not activating when you think they should then take a screenshot and we can see what the situation is.
Very good explanation, thanks. Concise and informative.
I came wandering into the forums slightly confused as to why the Wren with a teal power was only contributing 3 eggs rather than 6, now I know.
Everything else seems to trigger just fine. Regarding the birds that let you play an additional bird you also need to make sure you have enough food and eggs to play whatever it is you are planning to play. However, their utility is in that this allows you to take an extra turn to gather food or lay eggs in order to make those available for your free play.
I'll also point out to any of the above: you can activate the powers in ANY ORDER, but unfortunately there is no undo button. Thus you can use, say, the Black Redstart to lay eggs across all your forest birds, then perhaps use the Dunnock to lay eggs according to its abilities, however this will not work in reverse. Also, you can use one of the additional play birds to play a bird with a green power and then immediately use its power.
In the physical game my friends and I always would count that as 6 eggs. Why? Because it literally fits the wording on the card.
So if the wording remains as is, the devs need to change the function in the digital game to work to the card's conditions. OR....change the wording and clarify it.
It cannot remain as-is. Because it absolutely not working properly as it is currently configured.
"One More Thing" is just one of the many achievements in this game that you sometimes get in games where you draw a lot of cards. Build your wetland early, or get lucky and draw gull/deer, and go ham for a while. Starting a game with the goal of getting a specific achievement usually doesn't work out, but if have the goal of getting AN achievement and letting your draws dictate which one is how I unlocked most of them.
