Teal Powers not activating:
The EE that gives EoR goal of Counts as Double if it applies. For sure, I have played this guy a few times hoping it applies to Double my food cost of birds played for end of round bonus (he costs 2...so, doubled should be 4). Never, has it worked.

Related then, for the "Wait - One More Thing" achievement. At least 5 times I have had 3 teals that should have activated in the last turn for sure (don't know if I've had them played all before the last turn) and cannot get this achievement. For sure, related to the above, 3 times, the teal power has been the Counts as Double card.

The counts as double ability doesn't work the way you think it does. It says the BIRD counts as double, not it's eggs or it's food cost.
So if the end of round bonus was birds in the Wetlands and it was in there it counts as 2, but if the bonus was eggs in the wetland the power doesn't activate and you only count them once, same for food cost.

This will also be why you haven't had the achievement too, they weren't activating because you didn't have a viable Counts as Double.

Think of it this way, If the goal is about birds (this type of nest, having eggs, in this habitat) then the bird counts double. If the goal is about what is on/under a bird (tucks, cache, eggs, food) then it doesn't count double.

I found the "Wait - One More Thing" achievement one of the more frustrating ones, as it is not always clear what 'triggers' a bird at the end of round.

Hopefully this will help:

The EUROPEAN HONEY BUZZARD {Reset bird feeder at end of round. Gain all worms rolled.} will always trigger

Birds that depend solely on actions you control:
  • Birds that trigger if a habitat has birds, but no eggs
    • BLACK REDSTART
    • LESSER WHITETHROAT
  • Birds that trigger if you have food in inventory
    • COMMON STARLING (any food)
    • COMMON SWIFT (worms)
    • EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE (any food)
    • HOUSE SPARROW (grain)
  • Birds that trigger if you use all 4 actions in a round (play a bird, gain food, gain eggs, gain cards). Unclear if a bird to play and requisite food / egg costs are needed in inventory.
    • MOLTONI'S WARBLER
    • WHITE WAGTAIL
    • YELLOWHAMMER
  • The RUFF will trigger if you have at least one card to tuck.

Birds that have not too difficult trigger conditions:
  • Birds that require that any player (including yourself) has a predate bird
    • CARRION CROW
    • GIFFON VULTURE
  • Birds that require that another player 'gains eggs' at least once during the round
    • DUNNOCK (requires that you also have at least one egg spot open)
    • EURASIAN MAGPIE
    • HOODED CROW (requires that you have at least one card to tuck)
  • The COMMON GOLDENEYE will trigger if you have at least one other cavity nest bird and an empty egg slot on the duck.

Birds that count double towards end-of-round goal conditions (but can be confusing as to what goals trigger):
  • CETTI'S WARBLER
  • EURASIAN GREEN WOODPACKER
  • GREYLAG GOOSE

SO, last night...I did get the "Wait" achievement by not using a Counts Double bird (though I had done it, the achievement before that way without credit). I then did it again (had all the Teal powers activate) with 4 teal powers, none being the Counts Double. Interestingly enough though...and still think the Counts Double birds are broken. In another game, I did play the Greylag Goose in the first round...and NEVER did it qualify for any round. Is it/are they seriously that limited to qualify? IF so, it makes them pointless (literally and figuratively) to play.

The types of goals that qualify are variety of nest, whether they have eggs, number of birds and birds in specific habitat.
You can see the end of round goals before the game even starts, if you know they won't help then don't pick them up. They're very subjective but with the right set of end goals they can be useful.
I've used them multiple times and when the conditions have been met correctly they have activated as they should. If you have evidence of them not activating when you think they should then take a screenshot and we can see what the situation is.

Very good explanation, thanks. Concise and informative.

I came wandering into the forums slightly confused as to why the Wren with a teal power was only contributing 3 eggs rather than 6, now I know.

I'm still confused as the wording is quite specific. I.e. "Counts double if meets end of round goals." Well, the end of round goal is eggs in a certain type of nest. The bird has that type of nest and eggs in it. Therefore, it should count 2 x eggs towards the goal. Or, if the goal is number of eggs in a type of environment, then the number of eggs on the teal bird should count 2 x for the eggs it contains. What I'm hearing is not the case and is confusing. I will ask my friends who have the expansion what the card says *exactly*. Hopefully that will clear it up in my mind.

I do not have the European expansion at home so I do not have the rule book readily available, but as far as it is played in this computer version the impact of using either Ceti's Warbler, Eurasian Green Woodpecker, or Greylag Goose (at least this one has 7 points) are incredibly limited.

Everything else seems to trigger just fine. Regarding the birds that let you play an additional bird you also need to make sure you have enough food and eggs to play whatever it is you are planning to play. However, their utility is in that this allows you to take an extra turn to gather food or lay eggs in order to make those available for your free play.

I'll also point out to any of the above: you can activate the powers in ANY ORDER, but unfortunately there is no undo button. Thus you can use, say, the Black Redstart to lay eggs across all your forest birds, then perhaps use the Dunnock to lay eggs according to its abilities, however this will not work in reverse. Also, you can use one of the additional play birds to play a bird with a green power and then immediately use its power.

Just came across this very thing today. Played Ceti's Warbler in water, put three eggs on it, end of round goal was eggs in water...I expected the tracker would count 6 eggs. It didn't.

In the physical game my friends and I always would count that as 6 eggs. Why? Because it literally fits the wording on the card.

So if the wording remains as is, the devs need to change the function in the digital game to work to the card's conditions. OR....change the wording and clarify it.

It cannot remain as-is. Because it absolutely not working properly as it is currently configured.

I don't think the "counts double toward end round" birds actually do anything, and even if they did I don't think it would count as a trigger since they don't cause you to take an action. Teal birds tend to suck IMO but Donnock, Goldeneye, Ruff, and Magpie are all pretty good.

"One More Thing" is just one of the many achievements in this game that you sometimes get in games where you draw a lot of cards. Build your wetland early, or get lucky and draw gull/deer, and go ham for a while. Starting a game with the goal of getting a specific achievement usually doesn't work out, but if have the goal of getting AN achievement and letting your draws dictate which one is how I unlocked most of them.
