How is the multiplayer now?
I have had this game on my wishlist for months now and i am thinking of buying it but I really want to know about how good the multiplayer is and if I can expect to find players to play with.

I am not into singleplayer games and intend to play this game with other people.
So any insights into the current active playerbase, matchmaking times and multiplayer in general would be greatly appreciated.

You can find players easy everytime. I tried playing at different times of the day and had no problem finding playmates. Average matchmaking time is about 30-60 minutes, that's slow and meditating game. So, if you like to listning wonderful music, reading about birds, thinking about your strategy, you must to buy this game. Gameplay is not rushing you to spend all your concetration on the game, you can alt tab to something, or making some other things, returning to your turn in time.

The multiplayer is great. I've never waited more than a minute finding a match on PC or iPhone. The only downside is the 5 minute timer. Games can take a very long time to complete.

Honestly, it's kind of horrible. 5 minutes for EVERY TURN is awful. I know the game inside and out. I ussually average about 110 to 140 on points in Oceania, so I know what cards are good and what cards are bad, and how many times are we going to laugh about Dicksicle. So playing the game at 5 minutes per turn is so painful, especially because the UI is sooooo relaxed that it feels like the game takes 20 seconds just to get to the other player.

This is also annoying because faking to run the clock is a strat that some people do to get others to quit and lose karma.

All I am saying is that I wish there was some sort of turbo play for multiplayer. Give like 2 minutes and 30 seconds or heck even a solid 3 minutes per play, just like in BGA. 5 minutes is just too long for this game.

I was about to buy this game. Thanks for this comment. Saved me the time of refunding, because if matchmaking for 30-60 minutes is "no problem" in this game...then I definitely have no interest. I cannot imagine thinking an hour long wait to find a match is somehow nice or relaxing. No disrespect to anyone or this game but I do not have the patience to wait a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hour just to find a match. *Removed from my watch list*

I think you misunderstood the comment. The game takes about 30 to 60 to play. Not to find a match. Finding a match takes about 5 minutes on average, 10 at the absolute max. The problem is that if you don't find a game within 10 minutes, you have to start the process all over again.

There are definite problems with the online version of this game FOR SURE. But 60 minutes to get a game going is not one of them.

Game has been buggy multiplayer (me+wife+3 AIs) . The new bunting tuck card seems to be one of the issues.

I can barely finish a game. Last 3 out of 4 games I've played someone has quit, it is infuriating. I have 100 rating as well but that doesn't seem to matter.

Is asynchronous play working these days?

A while ago I had trouble inviting friends to play who weren't online and asynchronous play only worked for one game.

Thanks!

I really hope they add a Speed Mode with a turn limit of about 1-2m, surely people playing this on an actual tabletop don't take 5m every turn?

I get up from my desk and do other things while waiting for the chime that it's my turn. People take forever online.

Dude, as one of the commentators said earlier, the wait for a match is something like 1-5 minutes. What I meant in my comment was that "30-60 minutes" is the average during of the match. Sorry for misunderstanding you.
