Controls sticking, unable to play.

I hit world 1-15 playing this with a friend in local co-op, using two xbox one controllers. Now we simply can't run on the ground at all. As soon as we jump the controls are perfectly responsive, but on the ground she just sticks to the ground and doesn't go anywhere. It's impossible to continue the game like this.
