Fable III

Fable III

Where are the saved games?
I figured out that I have to run the Fable III launcher Manualy as Steam client is unable to launch it and redownloading or verifying the game cach dosn't work. It looks like I have a curropted game so I need to delete the bad game save. Where do I find that? I installed the game on f: drive as C: is getting to full. All the paths are the same other than F: drive.

I figured out where it is and started a new game. As usual when I got the guild seal and the game tried to save it crashed. That probably means the save file got curropted again for the umpteenth time. I will have to delete the save file and start all over. You would think that Steam would have fixed that by now. Its been doing that for over a year. Dosn't steam every read these forums? I posted about this several months ago.

c:\user\[your user name]\save game\lionhead studios

Your save files default to the C drive, so that may be your problem. I don't think you can change it.

Nope I found them. They were on the f drive. same path as you specified but they were on f drive not c. the game still crashes when saving after getting the guild seal so the save file still gets currupted.

I guess I should say your system drive (it could be another letter). I have Fable 3 installed on my D drive, but the game saves go to the system drive (C) as the default (not changeable, and it doesn't follow the game install path) so I don't see what is going on there. Hopefully you will figure it out. :)

I tried again switching to a lower resolution but it still fails when saving at the guild seal. I had to make a shortcut to the Fable three launcher to start the game as clicking on play in steam no longer starts the game.

I think I'll try posting on the Fable 3 forums since the Steam forums arn't helping. This looks like a problem for the Fable three devs. Steam may not be able to fix it.

Did you try to re-verify your game cache?

also make sure you turn off the steam cloud stuff so that it doesnt mess with your saves after you mess with them.
but it sounds like if deleting the save files didnt work, you may just have to reinstall. sounds like something in the game files itself is broken, and verifying the game cache doesnt always work
