Black screen and cursor?

Hey everyone. I know this has been posted before but I really need a little help. I bought the steam code for Fable 3, downloaded my game yesterday,but when I started it, its only a black screen and fancy cursor. I followed the prompts from the old videos but the GFWL won't install. So any help would be much appreciated. Thank you 😊.

Once you launch the game you will run into a never ending black screen. No idea why this happens, but this is a good time to close the game out (Alt + f4, task manager force quit, or simple close the game).

Now, download this[community.pcgamingwiki.com] and DO NOT LAUNCH YET.

Hit 'Windows key + R', type Control Panel, enter. You will have opened the control panel. Make your way into "Programs and Features" and scroll down until you reach: "Microsoft Games for Windows - LIVE Redistributable" and "Microsoft Games for Windows Marketplace". Uninstall both.

Now you may launch and install the brand new and shiny GFWL, from step 4, to replace the broken one you just tossed.

Once it's installed Open up Steam > Fable 3 > Right Click > Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files. This will take you directly to the game files needed for the next step.

Right click FableLauncher.exe > Properties > Compatibility > "Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 7" & "Run this program as administrator" > Apply Changes > Ok

Same as step 8 (the one you literally just did), but with Fable3.exe this time.

Now just launch the game. If done correctly you will be met with a super shiny, never before seen GFWL screen. You can log in with xbox account or create a new one. Depending on if your system is potato or not it can take up to 20 or so minutes (mine took 5 but am not potato).

I uninstall both, but on website I see Fables 3 Patch, I'm unsure what your referring to.
ok download its 5 seperate programs I launch it, it searches for games error try later.
So this time I do the search for it click on Fable III error try later. So I uninstall everything
I reinstall same thing.

Been wanting this game for yrs. didn't think it was still being sold. Then I'm on amazon
and I see it. I know I'll get it running sooner or later.

If you are unable get it to work source forge has a live.dll file and with it the game came to life. I uninstalled it reinstalled it and got rid of GFWL I wasn't even getting the black screen.
I would start it a few seconds later it would stop. But now I've actually been in the game
and played some of it. So whatever helps.

timeslip.users.sourceforge.net down left side you'll see fable 3.
GFWL.Remover. unpack dll put it in your main Fable 3 directory.
Make sure in Control Panel the two programs are delete.
Delete the two mircosoft files . Then install this. No more black screen.
