Typically what happens when I enter a new difficulty is you train, can't beat first boss (John Doe) so retire at that point (having gained a few % in stats) and repeat cycle until victory. This bit can take weeks and that is probably the case regardless of how much research/training upgrade you have (the reductions for each difficulty seem to be far bigger than what you could feasibly upgrade). Anyway with a restaurant you now have an income so you can do research which should make the next few chefs go smoothly and once you can upgrade training you're basically home free. If you need to retire before then make a backup save in case it's another long wait to beat John Doe.
Maybe there are some other tricks to deploy (reconfigure fairy abilities).
But yes there is no more content so it's a matter of curiosity more than anything else.

70 challengers challenges is... sure something alright. Unless someone has done way more than that I don't think I have the heart to go any further. They are simply too tedious and time consuming. It's ironic, since they wouldn't even be that bad except that you have to manually fight every single battle all the way up the ladder at one fight per hour. It took me about 4 days of regular play just to reach difficulty 70, and another day to finish all 13 battles.
As far as doing higher difficulty levels I'm currently on Difficulty 5 and I think I could do 6 and 7 and maybe 8 if I really had balls of steel. It's going to be a long slow process to get there but that's the only goal I have remaining. I'll probably only open the game once a week from this point on.
I am fully aware that Ryu has no plans to update this game but if he did, these are the changes I would make:
- Add some kind of price multiplier buy option for Upgrades. Having to type like 20 zeroes in the Count box when buying Upgrades is kind of silly.
- Some kind of max price multiplier auto adjust option where it automatically adjusts your slider upwards whenever a restaurant is selling a dish in 0.05 seconds. Having it check this once a minute and multiplying by x10 if it finds something off would be sufficient
- Allow challenger auto battle to advance
- Allow Instant Battle to be automatically used on cooldown, even while auto battling
- Allow research Next At values higher than 10 million
Difficulty 6 progress is 9 or 10 retirements in with stats of 7E7 I need a score x5E5 greater than current to beat John doe.
The thing about difficulties is speed is (1/10^n) while medals/secrets earned is 2^n and I don't recall what enemies increase by so it's going to keep taking longer and longer unless secrets snowball to a point where stats don't matter.
Do note that some things cap offline gains at 12 hours (e.g. challengers). I usually forget but I try to log in once or twice a day for that reason.
This was added to a patch at some point but it seems to be only if you're online when the auto battle is used and is capped at challengers challenges - 5 * difficulty.
