completionist question

I like to 100% games but i did a quick check on hltb and the big disparaty between a standard run and a completionist run (9h vs 35h) surprised me a bit. Anyone want to enlighten me a bit? Is it a lot of backtracking or just having to do 3-4 runs?

This is speculation but I've heard some of the secret/endgame levels are extremely difficult. Probably the time difference is in solving them.

I think this is one of the hardest puzzle games to get 100% completion without checking guides, so if you are okay taking a look at those guides, it is fun to complete the game.
