Low framerate no matter what
There are sections where my frame rate is halved no matter my settings. I had everything set to the lowest settings and at 25% resolution and my framerate didn't improve at all. Went through all the suggested performance tips but no change.
I have a GTX 1080 with a Ryzen 5 2600

What do you call "low" framerate? Also, is your game installed on an SSD or and HDD?

Have you tried disabling the in-game overlay? I get some FPS when I close the friends list/chat window in overlay.

Framerates are dropping down to 70 from 144, so not "low" framerate, but it shouldn't be that low with the settings all disabled and the resolution at 25%. I've tried both my HDD and SSD. I'll try disabling the overlay as well.

It's just what happens... Sorry, to say but you ARE playing an U4 Engine game with a GTX 1080. And at 144hz, you cannot expect to get that... You simply will not, lower your resolution and cap at 60fps or buy a new video card.

This is not to mock you, but as retro as this game might look ... It still eats resources.

Yeah that's understandable, just seems like frames should increase even a little when playing at a fourth of 1080p. Thanks!

I have some drops too btw, on SOME levels. I play with a 3070 RTX, in 1080p and sometimes well I get these small drops in this game, I stopped caring. It's just a demanding engine that is what I have seen in many U4 Engine games... It's not the dev's fault either.

I just want to explain you would rather play with a rather stable 60FPS , then a 144 that goes crazy because in my opinion that is worse.

I'm too used to 144 so 70 or less feels like the new 30.

I've noticed framerates fluctuate greatly in some situations greatly depending on the situation, and I have mostly played on a 3080. Lots of special effects can do that.

The first time I played the game I had it installed on an external USB hard drive and had a lot of stuttering. Moving to a fast SSD resolved that problem.
