Lost on opening level to Chapter 2

Just started it up a few minutes ago, got the grappling hook and played with it a bit, and...to my embaressment, I have no idea which way to progress. Do I open the grate somehow near the "Sorry Civvie" graffiti in the sewer, or....

You need to go back up a different sewer grate.

You have to exit the sewer onto the other side and once you do that you'll be in an area where you can activate an explosive device on a wall by hitting E on it. I also got stuck here for a bit, because for some reason my character didn't want to interact with the explosives so i thought i missed something, turned out it just simply didn't register the first time i tried hitting E.

Yeah, it took me a minute too to figure out where to go. Like FNight said, I tried to activate the explosive device and it didnt work the first time so I ran around trying to figure out what to do.

EDIT: And add that there is an explosive item you have to find for it to work... Man.

I'm necroing this because I can't find the other grate I'm supposed to go back out of. I have systematically searched that tiny area like eight times in the last ten minutes and I don't see another grate anywhere.

I restarted the level and now it's there. I guess my problem was that I found a bug.
