bref, dans le genre sonnette d'alarme t'as pas plus évident.
You've proven nothing.
The only thing you've suggested is that in your limited imagination, it is impossible for a company to release seven games in a year.
(Never mind said company acquired a few minor studios, and in doing so inherited a number of games that were already well into development, and they're now completing)
-----
The only Steam violation I'm currently seeing is your thread, Enkar.
It is indeed possible the major work has already be done before the project became featured on Steam. We don't know. This or the contribution by other developers (purchase, whatever) could be reasons.
Meanwhile 'Roman Legionary' and 'Knight Simulator' look like they could use the same engine, only different setting, decoration, skins etc. which reduces necessary development efforts. 'Knight Simulator' may have strong inspiration by, or is a clone of 'Mordhau', by the look of it, but more I can't say.
Before the products aren't released and people see what they get, it is difficult to say what is scam and what isn't. But after release - the truth will undoubtedly get revealed. Until then, I think we should give developers the chance to develop (or answer to the issues mentioned here). You don't spend money obviously before you get a chance to buy anything, so no fraud happened yet. I would also imagine Steam has their security checks as well to make sure their reputation isn't tarnished by hosting shady projects too much.
I only care about the ship builder simulator, if the others happen to be trash for one reason or the other, will not be my concern.
In first place not all those games mentioned belong to President Studio
President Studio work with the publisher Playway , Playway has alot of developer teams working with them and there's alot of games planned to be published by Playway on 2020
That not mean it's scam , even if some Playway published games are not so good
The only scam i see here is this post discussion
Since this game swap of developers there's a minority number of people trying to take this down , but so far no proofs was bring to this forum
It's a pity , because this kind of people seems not have nothing better to do in their lives
All 7 titles mark the same development studio.
While it is possible for say PlayWay to launch 7 products through out a year that is as a PUBLISHER.
The giant difference here is that the DEVELOPER is the same for all the products - not the case with PlayWay.
Not to mention the fact PW is established over years and years and these guys are coming out of the blue.
I do not agree with the idea it is a "scam" of sort. But what everyone should understand from the facts so far is that 7 simultaneous developments is not how you show courage in your convictions or dedication to a single product you want to make the best it can be.
If you check the screenshots each one appears to be a very limited play space with very pretty graphics - not hard to achieve and very indicative of every warning sign that the OP is talking about.
Comparisons with PW need to be put quiet because no one is acknowledging that PW are the Publisher for those titles NOT the dev.
@ZM insulting people trying to offer you a informed word of warning while failing to observe how things ACTUALLY work is nuff said.
The problem here is that are too many people on steam messing around with acusations without show the proofs for those acusations , if i was steam i would ban permanently those accounts that flame topics and bring confusion and doubts about game developers , if you have any clear proofs of anything is simple Obiwan , put them here or anyone else who have any proofs , words only to me says nothing
A developer already mentioned an important thing that some people not read at all and keep trying to take this game down
Note that what i write next was mentioned by a developer and almost all Steam users know about it
Steam has the option of refund any game if not play more then 2 hours , so this is more then enough to see if this game or any game is ok or not
So i keep not understanding why a minority number of people insist on bring this kind of discussions to this game forum
No one is forced to buy this game , but it's not fair some people come here and try to take it down with fake acusations , this is the point
I will repeat once more , so far no one show anything valid on all the accusations about the developer President Studios , it's all fake news to me
I can agree with the concept, too many people shouting scams on games that are struggling due to the gaming market being a b*tch, but this is entirely different, this is a red flag. Check out the description of all 7 of these game, i'm about 98% certain that they've all been written by the same person. Try and google the name of each of these "secondary" studios "roundtable studio" "gunsmith shop" and "roman soldiers studio", you won't find anything.
President Games studio's the only dev studio with an actual website, which holds the same 5 pictures that steam does for the games, is awfully optimised, riddled with typos and boasting about the number of people that added their game to their wishlist instead of showing any sort of live gameplay footage. Not a good sign at all. It looks like they're trying to capitalize on their wisher-base while only having pretty screenshots describing the barebone concept of the games. If they had anything better, they'd be showing it there, it's where investors look.
there's plenty games in the world that developers not have a website specially indie developers , most of Poland developer teams are indie with few developers members and many of them depend of costumers , so if we take them down without see what they are capable is not a great move to game world , as i mentioned before let them release games and then if people not like what they see they can refund it if you play less then 2 hours , so i see no harm here
About EA , i have to say they harm to many people in the world , so that leads EA to what is today , nothing , almost disappear , their target was make money and harm costumers
Let developers work and then people can have a fair opinion about what they see in this game , remember you can always refund it if you don't like it , 2 hours is more then enough
i have refunded many online games on steam that they all looks pretty much the same with horrible gameplay , they cost a fortune and people like them , surely i will not mention that game names , all costumers are free to buy what they wish and we are not all equal , thank god we are not
Right. This is a two-edged sword. On one side, warnings based on odd circumstances can detect fraudulent dev companies, on the other side, wrong warnings can ruin or harm a business which could deliver a great result (being optimistic here) otherwise.
So let's be careful here.
Actually I'd wish developer 'President Games' would react and explain things from their point of view here in this thread, I am sure, given the yet few discussions, they must be reading this thread. And they should, because it touches reputation and needs clarification.
That was already explain by devs on another thread , i believe it's pinned
If people read things we would not be here discuss the same thing over and over again
Also they have a discord , just a pro tip
<<We are young, indie company from Warsaw. As an game developer we are active in the video games market, reaching thousands of players monthly and hundreds daily. Over a year we collected 150 000 additions to the wishlist on Steam for all our projects.
Last year the company acquired an significant investor, PlayWay S.A., one of the biggest producer and publisher of computer games in Poland, listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW).
We specialize in the game developing for platforms such as PC. In the near future we plan to expand our projcets to consoles like Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox and also mobile devices.
The business model is based on the production and distribution of large amounts of low-budget and high margin games through scattered small development teams.>>
Sorry, but the mentioning of "low-budget games" as business model instantly had my interest in shipbuilder simulator start plummeting. I like complex games.
The games that the President Studio creates are:
1. Ship Builder Simulator
2. I Am Your President
3. Crime Scene Cleaner
4. My Little Army
Currently we have three teams inside our company that are working on these games. 1st one working on I Am Your President, 2nd on Ship Builder, 3rd on Crime Scene Cleaner and My Little Army. Thanks to this we are very effective and we can avoid overgrown management. This is our business strategy and it works well in our case. I believe that Enkar is also a game developer and understands it well. :)
When it comes to this "scam" thing, don't worry. We don't like preorders so we won't do preorders. We do not plan crowdfunding campaigns or early access. Steam allows you to refund game if you don't like it. At the time of purchase you will be able to see gameplay, ratings and reviews. If you're still afraid of being scammed - I don't have good news for you because we can't do more in this matter. Anyway I can assure you - you're safe.
