German audio but english subs?

I know a bit of Deutsch, and would like to play this game with the original audio but there's no way I could finish it without english subtitles. Any help?

Oh so the game is multi-lingual?

I believe the German version is the original version? Do you just need to change the Steam language and you get the German audio?

I want german audio but english subtitles. You can't do that because each version is a seperate version of the game.

It is multi-ling, in the meaning you can play it in english, french, german and some other languages. But you (officially cant mix text and audio).

To be specific about how it is multilingual on steam, in the properties of A New Beginning you can set which language you want to play in. When you switch the language it redownloads that version of the game and uninstalls the previous language. You cannot have multiple versions at once.

I managed to get it in German by changing the Steam interface language. But I couldn't find the "properties of A New Beginning". I'd love to have the Steam interface in English, but A New Beginning in German. Any ideas?

EDIT: Found it! Just right click on the game entry in Steam :D

The English localisation is terrible, in my opinion. The German is far better. I don't want to be too openly critical to the company though in case they think I am fishing for business - I'm a translator.

That sounds like an update they should be working on. I did it with metro 2033 and it was great. I love Daedalic Games (Edna & Harvey, Deponia) but this one was a flop. :(

It makes me sad to see so many people unhappy with the localisation - the original game is award-winning. :( Ugh. Maybe I will tell them, but make it extra clear I'm not plying for trade, I just think they need to work with a better localisation team...
