Really bad lag

I have more than powerful enough of a computer to play this game and for some reason at some points it lags really bad on high settings, mostly in seige battles actually. I got down to 7 fps during a seige battle at one point. 7! i dont get why either. I can turn down the settings some i know but i would think i would be able to handle it. is there any way to increse performance i didnt think about? The AA and antistropic filtering are both on almost lowest too, so its not that. my shader module is on 3 (low)

my specs are
Nvidia GTX 650
12gb RAM
Intel i7 quad core 2.6 ghz processor

Siege battles are really glitchy and it gets worse with every wall that goes down. At least you can play on high settings, anything above medium is grayed out on my laptop though to be fair I can barely even run it with medium settings.

as i said, i only have textures on high, the shader model is on 3 (low) and AA and antistropic filtering are on low. most other things are on medium/high. that should be fine for my rig, this is the only game that happens to, i play many other games on much higher graphics settings than this one

the game is really buggy..thats a fact from day one...one tip I got which can be useful in long campaigns is to ditch as many saved games as possible..I'm no computer wiz but too many saved games tends to slow everything up..When the game first came out I could wait 20 minutes-and longer to cycle through moves..keeping your game saves limited does help

your monitor out when you sellect a group in battle...they dont respond..dont run or one out of all will and the rest sit with thumbs implanted or waltz into your artillary.. when you get to within a year or two of completing a long campaign and the lag is so bad it finally fails ...leave your monitor alone...change games for a while as I did...I love the game yet even the guys who created mods to fix this cluster $%#@ have problems even getting the suffering to load the
fixes (mods)....its just a game....a very buggy yet addictive game and yes your comouter is fit for the job....

i run Ultra
my specs are:
Q9450 @ 3.6GHz
8GB 800MHz DDR2 RAM
Nvidia 460 GTX

on campaign map i get 30Fp/s constant
during battles 30Fp/s constant with the exception of extremely large battles

have you tried updating your drivers, and also try installing darthmod and maybe you might want to run a resource manager to see exactly where your getting you slow down from.

and also im gunna just go and say its prob that pleb graphics card you got.

all my drivers are up to date, and i get 60 fps on battle map but in battles (again mostly seige) i get some bad slowdowns. whats so bad about my graphics card?

well nothing really just thats my 460 GTX is better than it if it aint the TI version. but i just remebered what you meant by lag during siege battles and there aren't any know fixs that i've found for it so far :( unfortunately.

so your 460 thats not a TI is better than a 650 that isnt a TI either? that dont make much sense. I couldnt afford the TI anyway. too bad it about the lag though. it annoys the crap out of me

i find if in a large siege battle you get lag..try giving your orders and then moving where your looking away from the action...i have no idea but it seems help a lot - looking at a group of trees when your fighting though is so frustrating haha

ah well, its not THAT much different, mine even uses less power and is better in pixel rate, while yours is better in memory bandwith and texel rate. they are only a few % off anyway. you made it sound like mine was crappy, i just upgraded from a geforce gt 430 :p

haha fair enough, well i need to do a new build soon my computer starting to get abit aged :( ill wait til the 800 series comes out cause is the current trend has been they have been doubling performance on their cards ever even series.
