Where can i find patch 1.6 for ETW?

I have 1.5 and viewed on steam that 1.6 was released however can't seem to find where to download it. I'm new to steam and was wondering where are the patches found for games and do you have to pay for them. Is 1.6 the new downloadable content? Srry im sure im missing something easy but i tried for an hour last night and an hour this morning and i can't seem to find where you find these patches. Thanks for any help.

finding patches is a thing of the past with steam, your game is always up to date unless you have been playing in offline mode for a few years now.. there havent been any patches the last years

same prob here. my steam version is 1.5 but the last on steam is 1.6... why?

Update 1.6 for the award winning Empire: Total War is available today. The update introduces a large number of revisions to the Artificial Intelligence in real time battles. Amongst many other improvements, the Battle A.I. now maintains its lines more rigorously, has better army movement and engages in melee more tactically. It is also better at protecting its own advance and engaging opponents with flanking attacks.

Patch 1.6 is actually called v.1.5.0 build 1332.21992 due to a mistake of The Creative Assembly.
So how do you know for sure that you have the patch? You fully install the game and update with Steam and then check in your game folder if there is a file patch5.pack. If this file exists then your game is up to date. The game folder ("Data") is usually in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\empire total war\data

thank you, seems i have the latest patch indeed. And the problems i am having are not a patch problem, but actually from the game...

I just copy and pasted that from a forum I should of mentioned that.
