New Multiplayer Campaign
Hi folks,
Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing constant and consistent crashes to desktop during a multiplayer session?
While I have crashed to desktop around 5 times now, we're only on turn 4, my friend has not crashed, but I have crashed during their turn actions and even the AI turn actions. I am wondering if this is possibly just an issue that impacts the host?
Actions resulting in crashes range from assigning government ministers, replenishing a fleet after a naval battle, engaging an enemy fleet, and just the AI doing what they do best by moving around.
There is a lot of potential with this expansion of the multiplayer, even if it is extremely long overdue. I do hope that this will be made more stable soon.
I would be interested to hear if anyone else have ran into any issues so far. We haven't even had the chance to have a non-auto-resolved battle yet.
Thanks :)

The auto-resolve is all set, but we kept crashing before we could get into a battle with the AI or with each other. We'll probably try another campaign this weekend. Let me know how your campaign goes and if you run into any issues also. Would hopefully be a good opportunity to get CA to look into the instability issues. Although then again, it could just be a me issue. However, I did not have any crashing issues outside of the usual culprits of game crashes that others experience.

Honestly if the game have auto resolve only not is really nice in campaign. I have tested napoleon total war and not is nice. I prefer like attila campaign multy :)

the multiplayer campaign was always a buggy mess even when it was in it's original beta test before they scrapped it, all they've done is re-released the same beta back to the public due to the number of requests, it's gonna run the same, still though glad to see it back xD
Yep i tested it now but want say sorry for the op but i not test more because i see the battle is automatic only or the 2nd player need fight. I wait for future :) over the varius bugs
We have 2 copies to the game, mine & my sons, we both run Pirates Uber Alles Mod. We ran a quick 1 turn test.....happy to report the game ran perfectly!

We will test more & report our findings....

I think the op mean the base game multiplayer campaign without mod.

i prefer this. in warhammer, why would i want to wait for my buddies to 1v1 an ai. times..... how many players. it's incredibly boring and a waste of time. unfortunately, my buddies think they're gods at these games so if there 5 unit army cant kill the 15 unit army the ai built that im commanding, they cry. cause they could cheese a win. but they couldnt actually win.

I not says to apply manual battle for all but optional for who like it not force to automatic for all people :) in attila, for example, can spectating it.
Can conclude that the multiplayer campaigns are not fit for release and are a broken feature that has been pushed out for whatever reason. It is a shame and very disappointing that this has been released in its current state.

thats because it's the same beta from 15 years ago, back then it was busted with bugs/glitches and dsync/crash issues, they stopped working on it due to it being too must of a burden and scrapped it for ETW and instead worked more in depth on it in NTW, it's had no patches or fix's, just same beta that they've re-opened to the public as they got tired of people messaging asking for the code for it, so yeah same old beta, no fix's/patches so it's gonna be just as busted xD

Oh I hope that they are at least looking at pushing fixes for this to make it at least playable. Otherwise it is extremely scummy for them to push something so absolutely broken and then leave to its own incapable devices. It is unfortunate enough that they do not provide any fixes or updates to this game as it is...

Some of the issues we've identified so far include:
- Crashing when trying to repair a fleet
- Crashing during the AI's turns
- Crashing when assigning a government member to a cabinet role
- Desync on the map - territory and armies having different results in a battle resulting in both players having different nations owning different parts of the maps and armies. One example was Lombardy being lost to the Italian States in a victory on my friend's screen, but the opposite on my screen. Another example of this was my friend taking a territory off the dutch, but this did not show on my screen and instead remaining dutch.
- Random crashes during the turn. In one case we both did not touch anything during a turn.

Frustratingly, my friend and I have given up trying to get the campaign to work as we find it almost completely unplayable. This is a massive disappointment considering that we were pleasantly surprised to see the multiplayer campaign introduced and excited to try it out.

A shame really.
