Native American Navy
I bought the DLC and was disappointed to find out that the Native American factions can't develop a navy. How am i supposed to conquer the world without them? Anyone know of a mod that puts ships into the game for Native Americans?

I want you to think about what you're asking. Native Americans. Sailing. Additionally, I'm almost certain that Warpath Campaign is exclusively set in the Americas.

Its a video game. And why not let them steal it from the other factions? Shouldn't start with it, but it should be on the tech tree once you have a port.

I agree. :)

It certainly would be an interesting concept. However, Native American peoples did not possess the technology or proper facilities to build ships. Plus, why would they?

That's adorable, but it's not a navy. I mean a bunch of rafts would get thrashed by even a sloop.

(1) untrue - it depends on the circumstances and numbers - as anyone familiar with naval combat would know
(2) they can be transports, and needn't fight

It's not untrue at all. The odds of those rafts beating any kind of European ♥♥♥♥ will almost always be slim to none and at best, still heavily unfavorable. Transports wouldn't serve any purpose though since the Warpath campaign is all land based. Even on a global scale, these transports would not be in any way adequate for sailing across the oceans.

There is a huge difference between a boat and a ship. What you're linking here are smaller boats, likely unable to move, transport or fight as a cohesive naval force. We see similiar craft with southern indigenous people such as the Polynesian peoples.

They did not hold navies. They had small exploratory craft which could transport their families on calmer waters. Not only is this article failing to bring any direct evidence, there would literally be no reason for North American indigenous expansion.

So stop linking it like it's gospel. It's a single article without any true academic value.

i agree tbh. i think if a European ship is in port, you should be able to capture it with ground units. maybe they can be slower and less good because the natives aren't trained sailors, but if the Spanish are inside my port and i send in a full army of musket men and high exp warriors, i should be able to take over their ships and use them to take the different islands so i can at least conquer the western hemisphere, even if i cant get to Europe.
