Make countries like you

So i've been playing ETW for some time now and i've noticed a few things. Now that i'm no longer at war with anyone i've noticed that practicly the entire world hates me (except for Persia and the Ottoman Empire). I'm playing as Great Britain and I would like to have my allies like me (Austria, Russia, Thirteen Colonies, Greece and Quebec). My other allies like me so I dont have to worry about them (Persia and Ottoman Empire). Is there some sort of mod or cheat to make my allies go from being hostile to very friendly or some way without mods. Every other thing I looked up just end up giving bad answers and ways that i`ve tried and don`t work. Any help will be very nice!

Why do these countries dislike you?

idk but for some reason it says hostile next to their name and on the map their reigions are red not green

You probably try to assassinate a lot of people and expand really fast? Either that or you threaten them a lot/have religious + govt differences too.

Since Quebec is your ally i presume France is no more in game. You did not mention UP as a ally? Also dead? South America a big pirate blob? Greece already emerged aswell but 13 colonies still exist? With your allies now turning red you clearly messed up. Check details in diplo screen all we can do is guess.

Maybe it is "dishonouring treaties" and some territorial problems.. you hust have to give some of the other countries some money and tec. It works most of the time :D

The biggest reason countries don't like you is 'Territorial Expansion'. Every time you take over a province you will get a penalty (usually about 10) towards territorial expansion. Every turn you don't take over a territory you will lose only 1.
One way to counter it is to give them a gift. If you can afford it, the 10k one gives the biggest boost to relations, but it will go away over time,but they do accumulate, so the more gifts, the bigger bonus. But don't give them more than one gift per turn, space it out every few turns.

First of all, you should make Thirteen Colonies join you. they are not your ally. You are the protector of them.

Secondly, if you wanna make alliances with european friends against OTTOMAN EMPIRE, you have to stop Territorial Expansion in Europe.

p.s I'd have prefered OTTOMANS as an ally against austria and russia. so you can expand. you can move in Europe. After you take over all provinces in europe, you can declare war on Ottomans.

There is no need to make your allies like you or even have any imo. Exterminate all or make some fear you (protectorate...) and keep the leftovers for another day. You rule over all people's. No other way to play imo.

No France is still in the game also all of south america belongs to Spain. United Provinces just came back to life and are currently my ally. Yes Thirteen Colonies still exists because I gave them all of the United States lands and gave them all of my tech and alot of money (I use a money cheat mod sometimes in cases like this but dont usually use it unless I go bankrupt) while I took all of the the Carribean and Canada while Quebec has 2 reigions (Quebec city and present day Labradour) just to make sure they stay alive. I also gave all of my allies all of my tech and alot of money. I did look at why they hate me and the main problem is like you said, territorial expansion. So now im going to take a little break from territorial expansion. How long would doing that take to make my allies like me again? I am also back to war with france because they declared war on United Provinces and I dont want to see them go again, but I plan to take the battle to sea and take some of their regions in Europe and give it to United Provinces. Will doing this piss of my allies even though im giving the reigions to United Provinces also?

Of course. Your expansion won't go away if you don't get rid of the expansions.

You will loose 1 point of territorial expansion each turn, so to make your allies like you, see how many negative points you have, then you need to wait that many turns till they are even indifferent towards you.
Also giving territories to other countries will not lower your expansion points. Each territory you conquer gives you extra expansion points, no matter what you do with them. Also, why are you giving away your territories anyway? You will only have to take them off your allies anyway. The game is called Total War, the goal is to conquer everything, keeping countries alive is silly.

It doesn't really matter what your relations are with your allies too much. In my current game as Prussia, England is my ally, and I have -120 relations with them, and they have not attacked me, and will happily help me attack anyone who declares war with me.

You made the game angry by using moneycheats... I not play by the rules and now the others dislike me lol. You should have mentioned cheating in op, than i would not have bothered looking for a solution. Not saying you shouldnt cheat...to each its own. Just that by doing so you break the balance and the game tries to make up the only other way it knows. Become more agressive.

The only time where all the factions were very friendly to me in empire total war was during my campaign with the Portuguese. Took several lands in India,Americas and Europe and gained control of ALL the maritime trade routes(max i got was around 150 000 income only in trade routes coz all nations had growing trade with me). Eventually became the whealthiest nation and every nation became very friendly to me despite the expansionism.

I would suggest trying to get all the trade routes and get at least 1 territory in each continent. I found Portugal to be the easiest nation to play and in 2nd, Holland.

Right, for the benefit of those not paying attention, this game is called "Empire - Total War". It is not called "Empire - Please will people like me" As such, when you bulid an Empire, you are at some point going to step on someone's toes (or hit them over the head with an axe - whichever achieves the best result), and because of that, people aren't going to want to be all huggy and kissy with you - LIVE WITH IT! So stop crying like a little girl in the playground and just kill everyone - they can't hate you if they're dead!
