Total War: EMPIRE - Definitive Edition

Not launching after the current patch.
I uninstalled Empire after not playing it in a while and now decided to give it a go again. After clicking launch game, the mouse shows the loading icon and after that nothing. I see the game is running in my process window, but not showing up in any way. Ive tried Reinstalling, deleting the empire file in the appdata folder, making the process.empire text file, running administrator mode and so on. Out of ideas at this point, can anyone help?

hi..

give this a look.

all the best.

It was fixed when I deleted the empire total war folder in the appdata file mentioned here, thank you.
Note: It's most likely an issue with mods I previously installed not being deleted properly.

oh yes.. of course.

i was assuming this problem was happening after a fresh install. if you had the game previously installed and modded, or installed and modded, then absolutely, deleting the appdata folder where mods are stored is the correct solution first. i am glad you got it to work. i should probably learn to read better. :steamhappy:

all the best.

I am getting following error ??
---------------------------
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Empire Total War\Empire.exe
---------------------------
Error: Expecting keyword 'version'

Animations/BattleConfiguration/standard_rider_fragment.txt(1)

hmm.. have you tried to verify your game files through properties? you running under admin? (you should be) could be a couple reasons for this.

all the best.

hi again..

here is another thing one can try. since it has been stated the issue was created after downloading the patch. some issues can occur with residual within the cache. you can try this as well.

top left corner of steam.. look for "steam" open that.

select (steam) settings

select downloads

midway down.. look for clear download cache and select "clear"

you will be prompted that a shutdown will take place and that you will need to sign into steam again, from the sign in/password level. so if you don't have that readily available, be prepared. :steamhappy:

this will completely wipe whatever dl's residual there may be and might also be a solution to this issue. if not.. no harm is done. just takes a little of your time to perform. and honestly should be done routinely to promote cleaner running of steam in general.

all the best.

Tried both, but sadly didn't work. Thanks for the help though.
