What mods would you recommend?
Want to spice things up and play a better quality version of this game. I know a lot of mods help with that. I heard about Empire 2 but I have seen some criticism. Anyone have any ideas? I'm open-minded, there only thing I kinda need is to have more than the first rank firing :buzzed:

If you want more of a vanilla+ experience I'd recommend Minor Factions Revenge, Road to Empire, or Foothold in India/Tournament of Struggle. For a different feel to gameplay I'd say Pirates Uber Alles, Colonialism 1600, or Darthmod.
A good mod would be if the player can play the whole world. instead of bits of it like south america/all of Africa and Asia.

In my opinion out of everything I've tried, Darthmod is the easiest to install and use.

(This is the very best installation video I've found imo, and it also shows you how to install and use the All Factions mod which is a very cool mod that adds all the minor factions to the game. You use the Custom setting on the Darthmod menu to play all the minor factions such as The Knights of Saint John (Malta), Punjab, Persia, and many more...) Darthmod + All Factions mod- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUniqwCu2IA&t=741s

With that said, I am new to the game, and I do think that Pirates Uber Alles is a better mod in the long run, but I think for getting started with the game and getting familiar with it, that Darthmod is superior. If you can figure it out and it works better for you, then more power to you. I'm still playing with Darthmod until I've exhausted my interest in it. I am still a total noob to the game and don't have many hours in tbh.

Pirates Uber Alles can be overwhelming to get into and the settings are a bit much. But I think once I understand the game more and what the settings may mean, that Pirate Uber Alles will be better than Darthmod most likely...

Apparently some people think Pirates Uber Alles is better than Empire Total War 2 mod even though it's half the file size. If that's true than props to the creators. One cool thing about Pirates Uber Alles is that it is definitely still alive and active and the discord is still up. Heres the discord for it: https://discord.gg/zagGXs6b9H

Then, last but not least, is the Empire: Total War II mod... which is exactly what it sounds like... and tbh, I could not figure out how to install it. I am going to try again later, but the game is huge. It's twice the size of Pirates Uber Alles and is close to like 70 GB + the original game which is like 14 GB?

Anyways, here's a video links for that too... Sorry if there's a better way to be posting links other than direct copy and paste, but I'm not very tech savvy... I picked the best looking video out of the few that I watched - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBpEFEmoyC4&t=213s

I hope this is helpful to someone some day. I intend to try all 3 of these mods, but as I said, Darthmod is my favorite currently because I'm a noob and it is totally noob friendly. Some long time players even still swear by it, so it may be up to preference at the end of the day.

That would be pretty cool tbh. I'm playing around with Darthmod and a couple other mods. One is called the factions revenge mod and I have 2 mod menus open together and am testing now to see if they work together...

Can you tell me if ETW2 mod is better than everything else I've mentioned? If so, then I would love to install it. I just downloaded it actually and have the 21GB zip file...

whether its better than the others is up to you, with empire mods i would not recommend installing more than one at a time just to avoid problems, with empire 2 once you download the zip file unpack it somewhere on you pc you'll have a lot of bin files and a exe file you'll click the exe file to launch the installer it will ask where to install to you'll want to click browse then navigate to steam library, steam apps, common install there it will ask you to replace files do it it will then give a warning that it will delete base game files accept that aswell it will install all the files for you then a box will also ask what sub-mods you want to install after installing it a new window will pop up with sub-mods you can install manually

Sweet! Yeah, I'm going to finally try out E:TW2 mod...
I was enjoying Darthmod and the all factions mods, but some of the stuff is not working properly and it's frustrating me.
If I don't like ETW2 I will just reinstall Pirates Uber Alles and stick with that.

I'm going to try everything you just said here and will look up and watch a few videos if I must... I know I can figure it out, I've just been lazy tbh lol...

I just want some graphics changes like updated models and things from Darthmod (which looks great), 4 turns per year (which makes sense because 4 seasons per year), and as many playable factions as humanly possible to add to the game lol... I think I read somewhere that they included 48 playable factions...
I am hoping to be able to play them in Grand Campaign mode and not just battles like I am currently stuck with.
Some of the armies I want to play do not work currently either and there are issues with portraits. It's irritating. Darthmod needs a modern update, but the creator clearly doesn't care about it anymore which is cool I understand and they did a good job...
The Minor Factions Revenge mod also includes better Grand Campaign starting conditions for the minor factions, which I noticed when I played the Knights of Malta, but the graphics for vanilla...
Once I've seen Darthmod, it's hard to go back to Vanilla... I cannot figure out how to get both of these mods to work as 1, so I'm looking for a new mod... :(

empire 2 has some Napoleonic style units later in the campaign at the end of the tech tree and has some special naval units

It looks nice. I already deleted all old files and uninstalled the game. I'm reinstalling it right now so I can have a clean install for the new mod. Also going to boot it up once it's done installing so it creates the script or whatever it needs sometimes.

My main concern is how many factions are playable. I have a few that I am particularly interested in playing, such as Punjab (the Sikhs), The Knights of Malta (Saint John), Hungary, Persia, Scotland, Denmark, and many more. I also like playing the native Americans too and want to get more into them.

I've not played many campaigns to be honest. Most of my hours are probably me falling asleep and leaving the game open lol... I am hoping that they added all of the minor factions as playable in grand campaign, and I am hoping they added special unique units for places like Hungary, Scotland, Punjab, Persia, etc...
I liked all of the factions I was able to get with 1 of the other mods, but I couldn't seem to get all of the factions to work right with Darthmod's graphics improvements and had to play either better Grand Campaigns in Vanilla with 1 mod, or play with better graphics but not as good of attention to detail for all of the factions.

Nice... So... I had literally almost finally finished installing the game, right? And then I go online and start reading about it and I notice that they released a new version literally today like not too long ago... I was installing v4.4.6 and now they have just released v4.5 here:

https://www.moddb.com/mods/empire-total-war-ii/downloads/installer-etw2-v45-full-installer

Which is cool. I'm not mad. Just kinda like wow what timing lol... It's almost new year's day here. It's 9:36pm... I spose I should stay up and finish this installation process of the very new version they just released today...

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Empire\scripts in the scripts folder with be the ETWII_scripts folder in there will be the early and late folders choose one of the two depending on early or late start then inside one each folder is vdm and novdm folder and copy the contents of the novdm folder the user.empire_script.txt file and paste it in the scripts folder you only need to do this if you want to use the late campaign as the early start is already to go after installation

I'm using my nephew's computer and his folders are all messed up. I cannot find that in the directory... His AppData folder is in the C:// folder and does not contain those folders/files... and when I go into C:/users/username/ there is no AppData folder...
