Generals.

Hey guys, I love total war but im pretty new to Empire, In medevil you where able to bring people into the family to become army comanders so how does it work in empire? How do I recruit leaders for my troops?

There are 2 ways, you can either promote a general from within the ranks of a particular regiment by highlighting a regiment's card and clicking the star icon (I think it says something like promote general). You can also directly recruit a general from any larger city with an army training building by selecting to recruit the general's bodyguard unit. The concept is similar with recruiting an admiral: You can promote a captain on a ship by highlightiing the ship's card and selecting the promote admiral option which looks like a ship's anchor or recruit an admiral by building an admiral's flagship unit from any naval dockyard.

You can also dismiss generals and admirals if they have poor stats.

If you REALLY want some five star generals, either spam generals or go to Deutsch Prussian Faction, they have loads of great generals.
