This light cavalry unit is the one stationed at the beggining of th game in the fort in Finland. At least it was for me.
They have quite good stats, so I'd like to recruit more, but they don't seem to be recruitable anywhere. Are they an unique unit?

Their name comes from the famous Finnish battlecry "hakkaa päälle", which means "beat them up" as a fluent translation.

Quite often you'll get units at the beginning that you can't recruit until later after upgrades or research. Those are precious, so conserve them.

It's good but I'd say that as Sweden the mainstay of you cavalry should either be Heavy Cavalry or Light Dragoons.

I beg to differ! Hakkapeliittas are vital for moral and counter-moral tactics. Only the Hakkapeliittas can face a mighty Wallonian cavalry charge and beat them up. At least that's what the Imperials think.
