Darthmod can go ♥♥♥♥ itself
So I have this game on a Windows 8.1 PC and I thought I'd grab Darthmod. Why am I not surprised when this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of a mod doesn't run? None of the download links are updated on the original TWC thread because the modder is a lazy ♥♥♥♥, so I had to grab the install files from some other site [http://www.theassimilationlab.com/forums/files/file/873-darthmod-empire-80-platinum801-patch/] which attested to having the game as a 1 file installer since the two file install doesn't work on Windows 8.1 (again, modder is a lazy ♥♥♥♥). Wasn't even phased when the installer turned out to be the exact same broken piece of ♥♥♥♥ that I downloaded earlier. So no biggie, it actually installed.

Then I go to patch the thing and BOOM, Applicaiton Load Errors out the ass. So I spend all this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time trying to install a broken mod. Take it from me kids, don't bother with this ♥♥♥♥ mod. The guy who made it is a lazy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, seeing as how he hasn't even bothered to keep his links updated. Support? lol ♥♥♥♥ that, the only support I've seen is being told to downgrade to Windows 7. Thanks but no thanks.

Thanks bud. It's pretty meh to be honest, I liked AUM way more.
DME actually includes AUM - meh.....................

Amateurs detected. You're supposed to be able to catch a fly with chopsticks.

well given the Op's obvious dificulties, I thought we would start with the easy stuff......

Man who catch fly with chopstick accomplish anything.

I thought there were more people in this thread but imagine my suprise when a ♥♥♥♥♥ takes the time to write 3 whole comments in one go. If we're using that guy's logic of more time equaling more experience, then at this point you must be a zen master in being a salty arse. You need a shaker or some ♥♥♥♥?

EDIT: actually read back, it's a lot more than 3 lmao.

Some folk dont have the time (or inclination) to keep coming back to a steam discussion mate, yet others clearly do...

@hammeredalways: couldnt agree more there

I have Darthmod, but I rarely play it because my computer gets major lag when the line infantry fire their volleys (my GT 640 can't handle the smoke from the muskets). I don't blame the mod for this problem.

Perhaps you should have followed instructions on the installation process instead of blaming the mod itself? Also, mods that don't come from the Steam Workshop aren't easy to install. That's just something you have to deal with.

You can turn off the smoke btw^. I get lag when theres a siege, but thats why I go in the Mod options and disable the forts.

You can?! Please, please, please tell me how! I don't have the brains to figure it out myself.

in the DME menu under options - graphics - enhanced effects (BSM)
either switch it off or light and see if that helps

First of all, the blood effects are a joke, nobody explodes in a cloud of red when shot. Militia having too much survivability is not an AI issue. And there's a myriad of issues with DM that I already mentioned. Having spend a year modding my own game to my liking I can tell you that you can have so much more by modding the game yourself. I've changed tons of things, and am still able to play multiplayer.
Have you been shot with a cannonball?

You're missrepresenting my argument to make it easier to attack. With a cannonball? Sure, but what about muskets, which make up the majority of kills?
