Download darthmod platinum

Hello, I could really use some assisstance in downloading the latest version of darthmod. I have tried several times myself but im such a noob with computers that i am an uter failure at this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

well its not that complicated... go to ModDB website, type in darthmod then you'll have the downloads, click on it and wait for the 2+ GB ( i think ) to finish downloading. then install.
Also, reading the discriptions of the mods also help for installation instructions

I have done those things but when i try and play it says something is missing from a certain file.

what exactly is it saying ? Also, did you check the FQA about darthmod; Usually, if you have a problem, its listed there

It says something about a file missing and then goes to show me something like this(sorry for the lack of details) localdisk/program files(x86)/steam/steamapps/common/ETW/data/DME/packs/
and then the last thing is just something i can not remember.

I did not check the FAQ, are you talking about here on steam or on the Total war center? (where i downloaded it)

Total War Center has all the info; Darthmod comes with 2 files you have to download. Did you get them both ? Also, maybe your files were corrupted. Happens sometimes with downloads

I believe they were corrupted because i got both then also got the patch.

speaking of the patch (8.01 i think) did you read how to install it ? There are a couple of steps to follow before you run the patch

Alright, follow this:

First thing you are going to do is make sure you have Darthmod uninstalled. Go to your control panel -> uninstall a program -> Select Darthmod Empire 8.0 and 8.0.1 and uninstall them.
Now go to Steam -> Games Library -> Right Click on Empire Total War -> Properties -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity of Game Cache.
Doing this removes any Darthmod files, and brings the game back to its original state.

You need to download 3 files in order to install Darthmod.

Before you download these files:
1. Create a folder on the desktop and call it "Darthmod Empire".
2. Download the following files into your "Darthmod Empire" folder on your desktop (the 3 files need to be in the same location).

- DarthMod_Empire_v8.0_Platinum (exe Application)

-DarthMod_Empire_v8.0_Platinum.2 (2 File)

Once you are done downloading the files;
1. Run as administrator DarthMod_Empire_v8.0_Platinum (As administrator) application and follow the instructions
2. Then proceed to Run as administrator DarthMod_Empire_v8.0.1_Patch_Platinum_Final

You don't need to touch "DarthMod_Empire_v8.0_Platinum.2" because it isn't an Application since it is simply an extension file to DarthMod_Empire_v8.0_Platinum.

This is how I downloaded the Mod and it works.

Damn Nap ! I was about to write detail instructions... as above ! You beat me to it; But I will mention though, that when i installed darthmod, at about half way through install, it asked me for "insert disc 2 " or some such. So if it does ask you this, Plutos, make such you have the darthmod part 2 download unzipped in a folder and when prompted for disc 2, go to that folder and select the darthmod part 2 file as the"disc 2", the install should continue like normal after.

And when you install the patch here's how they say you should proceed :

" Step 1
You have to have installed the Full Version of DarthMod Empire v8.0. Find all download mirrors here: DarthMod Empire v8.0 Platinum Download.

Step 2
Open the Launcher and do Settings->Enable Restore Mode->Close Launcher->Select "Vanilla Ready" It is necessary to do this so to be sure that all the gameplay files get updated correctly. (If you have previously installed Beta Update 20+ you do not need to do this procedure).

Step 3
Run the Patch installer and follow the instructions (they are similar to the installer of the full version) "

thaqnks in advance for the instructions but question,is darthmod "nessasry" to play the game i mean everyone uses it/talks about ikt with this game and i just bought it.so should i get darthmod?

I am unable to run DarthMod_Empire_v8.0_Platinum as administrator> :(

^Then just run it normally, I just say to run as admin just to increase your chances of success.

Darthmod isnt really needed, I suggest playing the regular game first since the Mod is a massive overhaul. it changes a lot of features. The biggest ones are listed below:
- Units are far larger (Line infantry are 300 to 600 guys)
- Gunpowder weapons have more range in battle
- Arty can be doubled in size
- Cav is much stronger (so you really want to make sure you are in square formation)
- Adds a ton of extra units

It adds a ton of extra content to a game that had a decent amount already. Out of all my time I've spent playing this game, 320 hours was just France campaigns/battles. There is no way I would have spent that much time playing as them on regular Empire since theres so little to offer in terms of units.

The Mod claims to have a better AI, but I really can't confirm this. The AI is simply inconsistent. Sometimes it stands IDLE while I just bomb them with arty, sometimes it attempts to charge and flank me.

I only installed it yesterday and i struggled too, it turns out i was overthinking it so here's what you need to do.

Download 7-zip

download darthmod part 1 and 2 from moddb

unzip part 2 with 7-zip to your desktop (i was waiting for the icon to change to darthmod icon after the unzip but it doesnt matter what the icon looks like)

Create a new folder on your desktop and put the newly unzipped file and part 1 in it

open your new folder

double click part one (it should have the darth vader helmet) to install darthmod

Follow instructions, this should put a darthmod icon on your desktop after installation

click the new icon and play
