Ottoman and Russian Turn Lag- Dec. 2015
I'm a veteran of the other Total Wars, but just started Empire in earnest. I got Darthmod because of the animation improvements and such. The thing is, modded or not every campaign I start has gotten crippling lag due to the size/number of Ottoman or Russian armies.

I've checked here and all over TWC but haven't found a satisfactory solution. I even write my own mods and was toying with a unit roster overhaul that limits every unit to a historically realistic or possible number/population. That won't work though because the lag is due to several single unit armies bottlenecking and crashing the game AI.

It's 2015! Sega won't fix this for sure, but I'm putting this out there in case someone has actually found a solution.

Solutions tried and failed: Reload, remod, block gap between Istanbul and AMinor. TWC had a mod which is outdated that simply messed with the economy and crippled Ottomans- not what I'm looking for really. Another person mentioned changing the AI behavior junction tables to focus equally on building and armies. I'd make such a mod, but every attempt so far has resulted in CTD after I've messed with it.

I'd just settle for playing Napoleon, but it inevitably crashes for me at important moments. I built my rig on a limited budget, and it's nice, but NVidea GTX 650Ti won't allow maximum performance. Any help, thoughts, or discussion would be appreciated.

This happens on most any mod or sometimes even the vanilla game. The best thing I recomend is to save every couple of turns, that way if it DOES happen, you can go back and reload an earlier save and hope the problem will fix itself. Other than that? The only real "fix" is to hope the AI declares war on one of them and they get bogged down, or invade them yoursef and take care of the offending faction.

Thanks for the intel. I went back in saves and stuck a ship in the straight and they were fine for a few more turns, then it bogged again. I probably need to take instanbul to stop it in this one. That will be hard since it's turn 20ish- but I have a massive economy so it's possible.

put a ship in the channel of water next to istanbul, or either play as one of these factions or go kill them fast
