This is hilarious... I got Venice up to 91.2% Islamic, and Morea up to 99.1% Islamic. Vienna is near ~65%. Even Lombardi is near 29%. The Dons sent Priests from Naples to counteract my Imams so I whacked them one by one. The Poles have busloads bodybags too.
It's 1792, world domination. I'm the Ottoman Empire. I made my 45th region by allying with France and making them give me Martinique. The Dons had been bugging me for an alliance for about 10 years and each time I'd put them off by asking for an island or Florida. Once I'd completely pacified India I moved 9 stacks to the Carib and spread them out around the Gulf and the islands, and 3 stacks to Europe. Built 3 more stacks around the Med. Once more the Dons asked for an alliance. This time, like before I asked for Florida. They refused, so I came back with indefinite military access instead of Florida. They agreed. Biiiiig mistake. I got to move all my troops ashore and on the next turn I dropped the hammer on them.
Saying that, when I play battles, I normally take a few extra cav units, and run the enemy down, and try to wipe them out.
I have 497 hours on my account, but on my old computer, I had lots of hours racked up offline.
I think that's probably my mistake, because i don't often do that unless someone pisses me off. Playing as Britain i've got cities in India and out of nowhere the Mughals attack me and when i pushed them into Kashmir their damn Gurkhas were cutting me to pieces and made me angry so i mowed every last one of them down. However, i have had a few times in the past where the game has been glitchy for one reason or another and i've done the "continue battle" and after mowing everyone down there is like 1 guy that someone doesn't get killed somehow so i have to sit the full 40 minutes until the battle is done. I think that's probably why once the enemy is routed and it goes to "end battle" i ususally do it so i don't have to sit and wait until everyone is dead. If i want to get to 1 million, or even 500,000 i'm gonna have to do stuff differently.
I'd like to think so but not so much. I use rakes mostly when i have to like to kill foreign priests or gentlemen. I used to use gentlemen to do duels but it was 50-50 between killing them and killing my own people. Now it's just easier to buy technology from allies so now i don't put as much effort into gentlemen as i have in the past.
To me it depends entirely on the situation... the type of battle. It all rests on what the enemy will do. If it's a seige, I know if I "end battle" when the remains of the enemy rout, there be "0" survivors. If it's an open field battle against rebellious stragglers from taking a major region, i.e. Paris, London, Madrid, Vienna, I'll attack the rebels and chase down all the dregs because they will continue rampaging through the countryside if I don't. If it's a sea battle I always "continue", otherwise the damaged enemy just need to be fought again.
