Working ESF Editor?

The most current version of the editor on the TW forums is updated for Shogun 2 and Rome, thus using it crashes my edited saves in Empire. If you had a safe link to a more stable version that would be neato. I'm running Windows 8 btw.

If you consider altering game files in a game that is nowadays primarily singleplayer cheating then basically everyone on Steam is cheating because there is the thing called workshop on Steam. This game doesn’t have it since it is older than the implementation of said workshop. If you change the unit size in the campaign to have bigger battles or install mods to change the game up a bit, then that is not cheating. Cheating would be the use of programs or altering game files for MULTIPLAYER in order to get a competitive advantage. That is however not the case so you can’t call it cheating. Modding the game would be the right way to call it.
