Fire by Rank mod?
So I'm playing the Maratha campaign, and I noticed that even though I've researched the Fire by Rank tech, none of my units are able to use it. Can anyone tell me if there are any mods out there that enable Fire by Rank for the Marathas?

You can do it yourself using PFM. But it would break your multiplayer.

Maratha's infanrty are not "European" in style or training and that is why fire by rank does not function. There is an exception: the Sikhs do fire by rank and can form square. These can be recruited from Punjab (sp?) and Hindustan only with a total of eight avaible.

No they don't fire by rank. And Sikhs' being able to form square isn't an exceptional trait, bargirs can do it.

Well, my Bargirs don't form square, The prompt is always greyed-out. I wiil look closer at the Sikhs at the next battle...perhaps you're correct, or not.

If they couldn't form square the prompt wouldn't exist at all.

Not exactly correct...Cossacks have the prompt but I can't ever recall being able to form a square with that unit, and it's been that way through two different rigs. But then again, this topic is not worth proving who is right or wrong, in my opinion, anyway...sort of pointless.

What unit sizes do you use? Because on the smallest, only Austrian Line Infantry can form Squares.

I ilke large units...I use ultra in all TW games. With Empire, add DarthMod on to that, so, for example, with Maratha the Hindu musketeers are 500, the Barkir 500 and the Sikhs 400.

The Cossacks would be 500, if I rmember correctly.

The form-square icon is very nuch "faded' on all but the Sikhs. It's icon is "lit-up" a bit, and when activated turns very bright. That is how the normal procedure functions for other abilities as well.

Well, I don't use darthmod so I can't really help you with that.

I wasn't looking for help, in truth, but, non-the-less, I appreciate your interest.

Actually, it's better to avoid these broken fire drills and many mods completely remove them due to animation delay issues and pathfinding errors.

How? Like, what do I have to edit?

Your patch5.pack folder, specifically the unit abilities table. PFM is a nice tool because it gives you the ability to customize a ton of other things to your liking; stats, recruitment regions, recruitment buildings, unit availability to certain factions, etc.

The animations break a lot of things, but rank fire always wins over non-rank fire.

So apparently I can't edit that file with PFM, I have to use DB editor. So I open up patch5.pack with DB editor, and have no idea what to edit. Any help? The unit abilities table isn't very clear as to which variable changes what.
