Total War: EMPIRE wont Launch

Hi everyone, I just got a new laptop with windows 11 and when i click launch the game wont launch while on my previous laptop everything was fine.

Any idea how i can fix this?

If you google it. There are problems with Win11 and the Total War series. I think there is a patch. But don't quote me. Hope you get it sorted mate.

From laptop here as well, but with win10. After failure to start from
steam, I went to launch Empire.exe directly from the directory it said
a "System Error d3dx9_40.dll not found".

Find your Empire installation directory.

In Steam\steamapps\common\Empire Total War\redist
there's an app called vcredist_x86-sp1
Run it and do what it says. Then...

In Steam\steamapps\common\Empire Total War\redist\directx
there's an app called DXSETUP.exe. Install directX.

That's how I fixed mine.
