Can't set graphics higher than Medium

my computer runs almost any game on high or ultra graphics. I have windows 11 OS.
Anyone knows what might be the problem?

Open Explorer
Go to the top explorer window Menu Bar
Click View > Show > Hidden Items

Go to C Drive > Users > (YOUR account name) > appdata Roaming The Creative Assembly > Empire Folder delete the scripts folder, launch again

I have never heard of GeForce Experience auto settings adjustment algorithm affecting Empire, but there are so many little changes due to the way security is interacting, I do not know.

If it is not stuck in a code reading error in the preferences script which is fixed by simply deleting and making generate new and then you have to go reset all your settings, then you are stuck with manual if that option will work for you.

Unless and until something changes again, my best recommendation is set values directly in your preferences file manually, save, set to read only, check your overrides in the empire.exe properties on the compatibility tab, and see if you can manually override that way.
