ETW doesnt launch

So, I tried to play ETW again, after a long time. Sadly after I installed the game, it doesnt launch. Only the steam pop up shows up shortly, but then nothing happens.
Anyone has a idea how to fix this ?

Put this in your explorer address bar and hit enter, delete everything.

Next, browse into game folder, delete the data folder, right click the exe file, select properties, go to compatibility, set to XP, tick run as admin, tick disable fullscreen optimization, click DPI, set both upper and lower to application, click apply and ok to back out.
Verify game files.

Disable antivirus and antimalware programs (not windows defender, 3rd party only) before you launch and turn them back on when done playing.

Be sure you have scaling turned to ZERO in windows settings, video card settings, and monitor.

Make sure the actual game install path is Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Empire Total War Drive letter does not matter, but steam cannot install to a non steam main folder for this game. Then, while drive letter doesnt matter for almost everyone, there will be the exceptions only someone installed to actual C drive with windows will load and run.

If you have NVIDIA, uninstall geforce experience and set your own settings. ESPECIALLY TW games have that same exact scaling algorithm and they clash hard in some systems. It should be able to be enough simply to exit GeForce Experience, for MOST people.

if this is fresh install, there has been some success in re-installing direct x from the link and thread posted below. i would give that a shot first. there is an issue with the older dx libraries not installing properly since the latest update, re-installing dx will refresh that.

Thank you very much, that link helped. The game is running again. Now I only have to fix the settings ^^
