No french foreign legion?
It says the game goes from 1700 to the end of 1800.

The french foreign legion was created in 1831, and was also an important part of French military and war history.

Still I was not able to find them in this so called ~" historical correct " game.

Is there a reason for that? Or am I just a blind loser who is not able to find FFL units?

P.S: I know that there must be some type of mod adding these units, but this is not my question, my question is why such essential parts of French history are not part of this game already.

Keep it civilized and polite!

Cheers.

so the game is based in the 17th century witch goes from 1601-1700 and you want a regiment that was made in 1831.. correct?

The game goes until end 1800.

" The game is set in the early modern period, spanning from 1700 until the end of the 18th century, "

oh.. idk why i thought this game was based in the 17th century.. sorry.. but the end of the 18th century ends at 1800 so that would make it 31 years too early for the FFL

Well the wikipedia is wrong. The closest thing available in game, and the historical predecessor to the FFL (if I'm not mistaken) are the Regiments Etrangeres.

Some limited and inconsequential Entranger Regt's is the best you could hope for as empire cover the 18thC ie 1700-1799

edit: apologies to those who have already pointed this out.

I'm not including the Swiss, German etc as Entranger Regt's as they were in regular service.

Wikipedia is not wrong. Simply because everyone with a sense for history will recognize this game as 17 to end of 18th century.

But who cares. Let's not involve the FFL.

As far as I know there is only the mentioned Regiments Etrangeres.
About you complaining about historical accuracy: This game is a lot of fun, but it is far from being correct historywise in other aspects, too. After all, it's a video game.

Who is this everyone? I have yet to meet to meet him. You know, it's rather funny that the little historical event tabs that pop up stop coming up after

My mistake, I misunderstood. Though, still, FFL doesn't exist because it came too late. The latest any campaign ends is the USA campaign which ends in 1826 if I'm not mistaken.

Campaign goes far longer than that, it would just be pointless to play. FFL deserves a space in this game.

Not from a historical standpoint. I mean in terms of historical units, the latest units I can think of in game are the Green Jackets which were used starting in like 1810 I think.

Wait, didn't you say the game is not historical accurate anyway? Why would we care about the legion being introduced a few years after the game is actually finished?

I think nobody gives a rats ar*e about it. Legion is a great military organisation with a great history, some serious warriors with serious skills and kept is traditions until today and probably still will in future. Even this alone is reason enough to make it part of this game.

Well, I am just an old legionnaire who wants to honour his guys with them being part of a game.

Whatever.

You know why they aren't in the game? Because the offical grand campaign goes from 1700 to 1800. The American campaign ends at 1825. The FFL was formed in 1831 so it doesn't make sense to just add them in. And why would they just add them in now, it's a game from 2009. How would they differ from the other elite units?

Honestly, what a waste of an argument...! Gee! Do you really think CA is going to patch this dung in? Go get a TW WWI mod if you really want the FFL on your screen, move on. Next in line please...!

The Campaign ends at the year 1800. Because at this time the Napoleonic era starts. If you want the french foreign legion try Napoleon total war but i am not sure that they are in the game, maybe with a mod.
