How do you get an Emergent Nation to Revolt?
What I do so far is conquer the region from my enemy, let the Rebels spawn (3 turns of unrest) and then gift the region back (so that i can maybe be friendly with rebels?).
Any other ways?

Not all regions have an emergent nation.
I know, that wasn't my question.

Clarify in more detail please.
One way is to conquer the Region and tax it till Rebels spawn and then give it away so the Rebels take it next turn (keep military producing buildings damaged).

Is there any other way to "make/help" an enemy Region revolt and a nation to emerge (wherever there are such emergent nations)? Stationing armies in enemy region just gives the enemy town a +12 happiness bonus for resisting invaders so that does not work. War weariness only affects their national capital so that's also out. (I guess you could take their first capital and leave them with a region that's an emergent nation for a new capital, could that work?)

Meh, not really, war wearinness at best is 3 disorder. One could try gifting a ton of enlightenment for major clamour for reform whilst using rakes to destroy happiness buildings but iffy at best.

Most of the time I just let them come when I control the area and sign a peace treaty with them.
I attacked the Mughals as Maratha (duh) and after taking 3 regions in the first turn and 3 more in the second their War Weariness was -14 and their (national) capital had negative Low class unrest. I took their capital on turn 3 so it spawned their (flag/royal) Rebels while it was mine next turn, but if i went back to a save and let them keep it then Republican Rebels spawned and took their capital lol.
So it's definetely not capped at 3.
Patriot fervor in my capital was capped at 6 though (decreases by 1 or 2 each turn, I always forget to check lol).
Pull all armies out of the capital. Leaving the capital with NO armies and building 2 or more schools will kick any region into revolt. Yes schools cause unrest.

Also if it is the case that only the country in question will be affected then hike the taxes to max. Since you can't set tax policy for individual countries you can't always do this last. For example if you have a number of European countries and you want just one to revolt you can't hike the taxes as it will drive all your European countries to revolt.
So I guess I was right, the only real way is to first conquer the region from the enemy then tax it to revolt (with the -13 conquer penalty) or whatever... sad

Why, you could always wait for the AI to do so, but they usually exempt tax and have a large enough force ready to quell any rebellions. So if you want new nations to arise, either kill European powers in Europe (so the US, Quebec, Mexico and Gran Colombia arise) or take the region and have it revolt.

Unfortunately, Ireland causes the game to crash sometimes so it's not good to have 'm around.
Never trust a Leprechaun!
Ah well, I've made Scotland, Ireland, US, Quebec, Gran Columbia and Mexico appear in my current playthrough. I've given England a "2nd" chance, liberated Portugal and now have to deal with a pirate threat in the Caribean...
I agree with Deftly Played. If you want a region to revolt, build schools, clear your units out, destroy any churches and dens of iniquity (bawdyhouses on up), and you should have no probelms getting the people annoyed. Especially if you are a monarchy with a 1-3 star king.
Captain Obvious... :p

Constitutional Monarchies are the best government type and has the most difficulty with inciting rebellions/revolutions because there's no lower class.
This thread isn't about discussing Government types. We know all that.
This thread is about different ways to make Emergent Nations to pop up, other than taking the region youself and letting it revolt (the obvious and easy way) and then maybe gifting it to someone else before the rebels take over so you can be friendly with them (that still works, right? haven't done it)
