Best government?

I prefer absolute monarchy myself. The triple bonuses from my leaders and the ability to yeet anybody with negative traits is amazing. Plus no friggin elections to mess up my plans. It's tedious, but I think it's best :)

I prefer constitutional monarchy. I often switch to it when beginning a new campaign.

I like republic the most as in the late game you basically have zero problems from the lower class wanting a revolt/being unhappy

Plus you also get conscripts, one of my favourite units. For whatever reason they make me think off WW2 Soviet foot infantry

Constitutional Monarchy is the overall best one, though the others have their merits.

Strong preference here for Absolute Monarchy. I find it absolutely the easiest form of Government Type with which to develop, and keep, a top notch cabinet. Once that's done, the supposed disadvantages of Absolute Monarchy, keeping the Lower Class Public Order under control, becomes relatively trivial.

That being said I'm a dictator and if one dudes marriage problems start affecting the poor masses or the powerful elite (or more importantly their view of my government), than it's a decision I gotta make.

I mean I COOOOULD build buildings to raise happiness, but that would affect the economy, and thus my never ending war effort. And I simply REFUSE to allow that.

Republic works for me. You can get all the important stuff to 4 stars easily and public order is easy to maintain even with massive research investment.

Constitutional Monarchy is best. No industrialization penalty. No lower class to worry about.
