If I may suggest, start with shutting down game, go to %appdata%/Roaming/The Creative Assembly/Empire/Scripts and delete your preferences scripts. If you are running any mods, remove the user script for the mods. Go to display settnigs and set your monitor to 1920x1080 then Start the game and set your settings.
Yes, 1920x1080 is standard 1080p which what I always use for games that I want to run at 1080p, I've done the scripts & forced 1080p through the scripts also 1080p work but with no sound.
I only thing I haven't tried is setting my monitor to 1080p then starting the game
Ok... I don't think your understanding what I'm saying the only 1080p resolution I choose is 1920x1080p for all games even previously when I've played Empire so you jump to a conclusion out of nothing.
For some reason when I select 1080p there is no sound and for Empire the screen will go black until the 10-15 reset timer when you change settings in Empire expires then it reverts back to the previous setting.
So to reiterate I knew the game only runs at 1080p (1920x1080) or like you said it was always designed for that type of resolution my issue is I get no sound when selecting 1080p.
Did you ever find the problem to this? I'm having the same issue on all total war games, no sound on 1080p or under, i get sound with anything above 1080p.
Hi, it was a while ago, so I not 100% as at the time I was having a few issues, I remember doing two things in relation to the issues...
1. I used CRU (Customs Resolution Utility) in the past to enable FreeSync, but deleted resolutions was causing the problem. I re-activated/reset the resolutions to default.
2. I used at the time a LG C9 and there is setting you need to disable on the TV called something like live service/plus
Cheers for the reply. I'm using a Samsung TV, and i have a GTX 1060. I just gave up and play on 1 above 1080p. The issue just drove me crazy, i did everything. It's something that only affects Total War games. I think it's probably a Nividia driver problem.
Hopefully when i get a new graphics card it might fix the issue.
