This is exactly how I've been launching it. The launcher tells me to start the game through Steam, I proceed to do it and immediate crash after it displays the Darthmod logo.
Some people say it matters the order you launch it in so I've made sure to launch Steam first, then the DME launcher, then Darthmod and still it crashes.
Have no idea why it's crashing as I was doing a playtrough a few weeks ago with the casus belli mini mod installed. Game started crashing mid battle, figured I'd do a clean install of the game/mod (without CB) and here I am, now unable to even launch the mod.
Weird thing is if I close the DME launcher and enable it for DME mode, I can launch the game and at least get past the Darthmod logo; however it appears as if the mod isn't even enabled as the menu is the same and I can only play with vanilla factions, no matter what campaign script I use.
If anyone has ANY ideas as to what the problem could be, I'd greatly appreciate it.
I actually did try this in the launcher, but after reading this I decided to look more into it. I deleted the whole Empire folder in Appdata/Roaming.
FINALLY the mod is launching fine once more. So thanks for giving me the idea
Many thanks for this, I had the same problem.
Hey I've been having the same problem recently, where do I find the folder in appdata/roaming? I've been looking for it but I'm not great at this stuff, still all of my mods have been crashing on launch while vanilla works completely fine.
You would open up my computer and find it in your user folder on whatever drive you installed the game, for example = C:\Users\(your name)\AppData\Roaming
Hope this helps
Use the way Butterlord above proposed
or
just search for %appdata% in search bar.
Its quite common problem, I experienced it even in vanilla after reaching year 1800. In my DarthMod campaign (United Provinces) I had to wait about 15-20 minutes for 3 turns because the Ottoman turn lag, after that the problem disappeared. I also found some instructions how to solve this problem, but I never tried it, so dont know if it works.
