That depends on how good your computer is.

Well that doesn't mean very much to me. But I guess you could just set the game to early, buy the maximum amount of landless rabble, and keep upping the unit size until it crashed.

There is possible to make rotation for enemy reinforcements? Make them come not all together? I played darthmod and it always crash when I fight against 3 full stacks.

hey Till Lindemann. Saw your post, have a burning question. So ihave a super computer for a gaming rig, and have recently modded Empire total war to have ridiculous army sizes. I have 300 men per line regiment and 200 cards per army cap, so I can field a max of 300 x 200 = 60,000 men or so. How did you manage to get reinforcements to come onto the map all at once? I knwo you want the opposite but i am curious. Cheers

and to answer the first question you had at the top of your post, I have read conflicting information. Some people claim they have seen users post screenshots of 100,000 sized regiments, even if unstable it is possible to load a battle with that set as a setting. However, with GTX 1080 and intel i7700k processor (both arguably pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good piece of machinery) I crash at roughly 36,000 total troops on battlefield, campaign. Not sure if it's a ttoal soldier count problem or a ttoal card count problem, as there are about 300+ cards making up that 36,000 man figure

I've had battles where there were around 12k units on the field of (pitch) battle at one time (420 soldiers per line infantry, 490 for austria, 175 in cav units) without crashing, though a few fps hickups here and there.

Mostly, units tend to trickle in after the 40 unit size has been reached by the AI and thus only the first part of the battle is somewhat hickupy for me.

How much did it cost you to be able to run that? My gaming pc dream is to be able to play Total War and have an army of 100000 v 100000 in max settings with no lag... Is this possible with less than £1000 lol ?

Maps are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to small for 100k v 100k battles and the engine simply isn't designed for that. So even if you've got a NASA pc for such battles, and made all regiments 100x the size they are now, the game simply wouldn't be able to handle that.

yeah hes right my FPs takes no hits but as soon as the screen displays a total of 32,00 troops in Empire the game wll crash, always. Shogun 2 is better, it has a 56,000 troop total limit i believe. Hopefully the new total war gets ballsier and pushes it more, they need to.
