Since that isn't the case for Windows, CA hasn't updated them.
You can use LargeAdressAware to allow the game to use more than 2gb of RAM but it will still only use 1 core only.
Because it is.
Majority of crashses are related to RAM so using a program like LAA to allow the game to use more than 2GB of RAM will circumvent majority of crashes.
you could use the 4gb patch application to allow for RAM usage. as Inardesco mentioned in using LAA. a different but same result application..
