Any good mods for fixing the broken AI?
Noticed in most of my siege battles as a defender that the AI is just acting completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Sometimes they stand around forever before attacking, sometimes they wait below the fort's walls for some reason while my guys shoot em til they route. Sometimes once they've depleted all their infantry units, the enemy cannons keep shooting at the fort while the general also stands around outside not doing anything. I mean c'mon. If you know you've lost a battle.. you get the heck outta there. And that cannon shooting keeps going til the timer is out! I got the timer set on 60 min! Ridicolous!
Anyone knows of a good mod that fixes the AI up? I mean c'mon.. Medieval 2's battles feels like masterpieces compared to Empire's battles..

When you're in a siege the defender cannot retreat. When I've played Darthmod I've noticed the AI act 'slightly' better, but this might be because units are larger and deal more damage at close range. The AI acting retarded in defending sieges has always been a problem in ETW btw.

Of course a siege defender can't retreat. I meant that the enemy(attacking) general doesn't seem to wanna pull back from a losing battle. And instead let's his cannons keep shooting the fort to no avail. Just annoying.
Haven't played etw for probably over a decade and still til this day they didn't tune the AI what so ever. Shocking.
But I'll look over Darthmod. Thank you

reinforcement
melee combat
and few others i cant remenber it probly be tagged or something

The scenario you described is a free win. Activate fast forward, and enjoy. As for your question, no. There are no mods that improve AI.

If there is only the cannons and the General, you should be sallying out to fight them directly.

There are a few good reasons for this, first you can finish the battle without waiting (or fast forwarding); secondly, you get to build on your tally of kills (to reach achievements) and thirdly, your guys will get a small increase in experience (all the better for latter battles).

When you are the one being attacked twice in a row, no time given to replenish the troops and you play on very hard difficulty as Sweden.. I'm not gonna sally out with less then 200 badly wounded men in total towards a enemy general, 3 cannons and two cavalry units just standing around.
I want a proper battle. I don't cheese these things. I find it no fun shooting down on the enemy while they just stand there and take it. What's the challenge in that?
I'm just gonna have to do some research and look for a mod on my own. Darthmod looked a bit promising, tho it is kinda old. But thanks for the input.

Darthmod was perfect except for it making naval battles unfun...it tried to be more "realistic" by making the ships extra slow as if there's no such thing as wind. I can tolerate modifications for realism, unless they make what should be a 10-minute battle into a 10-hour one

DarthMod also makes my game crash more often sadly...
